Cheltenham 2012

Me too please Chewie

Fair sick after coming back, ahead a bit but had some lovely dockets up if First Lieutenant and Albertas had come in. Savage racing today best of the week

i was wrong re lynchs ride on VLV, he nearly pulled a master stroke…jesus she would have been some WH winner if BB wasnt in it

cant wait to see her take on quevega over 3m at punchestown. Two unbelievable mares.

I had vlv place only with pp. I ended up shouting for bucks in the last furlong!

any sign of the shitmuncher?

What about the Henderson stable lad who won over a million on an acca, some story. Poor Bet365 got clobbered!

Pricewise is putting up Synchronised in the Gold Cup tomorrow.

He struck the bet in november, its amazing that all five made it to festival yet alone win. They obviously did not think they had the champion hurdle winner at seven barrows

What did he have in the acc? All wednesdays horses?

Think I will side with Long run for the Gold Cup tomorrow.

For all that I would love Kauto to win there are just too many negatives.

Sprinter Sacre - arkle
Simonsig - neptune
Finians Rainbow - champion chase
Riverside Theatre - ryanair
Bobs worth - RSA

Incredible stuff.

They reckon the owner of Son of Flicka took close on a million too. He was lucky the horse improved with the better ground

Sprinter Sacre (Racing Post Arkle Chase)
Simonsig (Neptune Investment Novices’ Hurdle)
Bobs Worth (RSA Chase)
Finian’s Rainbow (Queen Mother Champion Chase)
Riverside Theatre (Ryanair Chase)

…all punted in November! £50 straight acca…

It will be some gold cup next year with bobs worth, first lieutenant, grand crus, SDC, first installment, hidden cyclone et al.

I think you are forgetting Imperial Shabra as well

Monsignor is doing roadwork and is expected to be back for a tilt at it aswell.

I heard someone on ATR remarking how well Imperial Shabra jumped as a novice in his 22nd run over fences

Jesus,
there was a lad asking me this evening about said horse and what happened to him

The shabras will probably turn up at the olympics to occupy their summer. Three day eventung maybe? Who is Rita shah anyway?

A recycling mogul from Monaghan

Fuck me but my brain is melted trying to pick apart the Triumph tomorrow. Already have a dud bet on Ut De Sivola at 14/1 (Interesting that Townend rides him instead of Darroun). Have had 3 separate contacts tell me about how well Sadlers Risk is fancied and now I see SS talking about the piece of work he’s done. Someone else has been waxing lyrical about Shadow Catchers chances and Elliott sounds so confident about him. Every time Alan King has a runner near the top of the market in this it’s worth looking at and I think Choc has been forced into riding the weaker one due to owners. Need more time on this one.

A similar conundrum in the County. I’ve backed Master of Arts ante post at 20’s but that looks like another dud bet now. I’ve been stalking Moondice since his greatwood run but I’d need double digits (bigger than 10’s) before parting with cash for him. Fenways point about the Betfair hurdle has thrown things upside down for me!

I can’t touch Boston Bob at such a short price. I think Mount Benbulben needs a bit more give in the ground and would want bigger before I could back him. I backed Sivola de Sivola on his last run and he looks like a good proposition to me.

Will be looking beyond the front 2 in the Gold Cup. Another dud AP bet on Time For Rupert at 16/1. I really like Burton Port but I think he ran too well the last day and there’s too much risk of him bouncing. Weird Al who runs his best races fresh is the first to catch my eye. Can’t have Sychronised. Midnight Chase will bound around as he loves the place and should be a good place candidate. Can’t have Quel Espirit (sorry Laz). What A Friend is another with serious place claims. Diamond Harry is too brittle. The rest don’t interest me. Weird Al looking like the best candidate for me given the form of the McCain stable and the freshness point I made earlier.

Have backed Merchant Royal at 16’s, not looking any further than him. Runt, if you’re still reading, he’s been backed into 10’s now in some places.

Toner DOudairies backed in the next at 12’s or 14’s - leaving it at that.

In the last race, I agree with the lads take on Kid Cassidy. He’ll bound along in front and could do what Oiseau de Nuit did last year. I’ve been waiting for Idarah to run all week and had him pointed out to me as one who was being lined up for one of the handicaps so will settle on him at the 20’s or so he’ll be at. Having Askthemaster at 66/1 in this last year was nearly the achievement of the festival!
