Cheltenham-Early thoughts

I’d say Rachael chooses A Plus Tard over Indo as well at the moment. Davy will be on Galvin. Jack will be on some Gigginstown yoke. Townend on ABP. Danny on someone like Tornado Flyer or another Willie horse. Cooper on another.

You’re getting fairly thin on the ground for jockeys then. Aidan Coleman or Darragh O’Keeffe for Minella Indo?

We can safely rule out Harry Skelton.

Thankfully.

I wonder if someone like Robbie Power could be a proverbial flyer on Indo.

Could see him running very well in it without winning like Kauto, Denman and Native River all did when they were pushing on in years.

Zero chance Rachel Is on anything els id say. She doesn’t get on with Minello Indo. Just doesn’t jump for her.

He didn’t really stay last year and that was good ground when Henry’s horse were flying it. He isn’t going to run again either.

Would you have said he didn’t stay if Minella had not run?

That’s it at the moment theres four market principles. I’d be nearly most confident of him placing.

If the ground comes up soft it’ll seriously inconvenience Minello Indo and galvin too. That’ll probably stretch a plus tard stamina also.

I think as an each bet he’s a cracker. A double with Allaho or something.

Ya you can look at it like that. If he didn’t run over Christmas would galvin be as short for beating kemboy.

I can see al boum photo reserving places anyway.

Just looked entries are out and abp is now 8s. No envoi Allen.

He’d want to go to 16s before I’d even look at him ante post and even at that youre gambling on the ground being soft

Was looking back through Indos races there. I’d forgotten he was beaten by Laurina in his Beginners chase. An awful pity she went completely off the boil.

Dickie Diver was 4th in his Albert Bartlet and did okish over fences last year. He was back over hurdles there last week in a classic JP plot start. He’s going into my tracker for one of the festival handicaps.

He was 2nd in a gold cup at 7. I would argue that his run at leopardstown was probably better than last year. That was with Rachael not giving him a great ride and Henrys in and out.

I can see the case for ABP but just think A Plus Tard is now the finished article

Not really imo. He was 3rd last year on good ground. It’s likely a repeat of that will see him place again. He’s a solid if unspectacular bet imo.

The win part probably isn’t great but If it did come up soft he’ll be 5/1 or so depending on what happens during the week.

Hes a year older, 9 to 10 is when the big decline happens. Others will have improved passed him

Any chance Mount Ida runs in the Gold Cup? She’s the most interesting entry of the 30 for me from a quick scan of them there.

Ya I just haven’t taken to him like others. I think he’s a speedier type. Been beaten in the Ryanair and a gold cup.

Think somebody said on here he hasn’t won two races in a row. Just two less career runs that abp too.

That was me. It was mentioned in the Racing Post on the day of the race

She’s entered, I’d say there’s a massive chance she’ll run.

There’s nothing really left for her to do. Id say she’ll either run in the Gold Cup or the Irish National

She has no chance the way she jumps. Fair engine though.
