clare by 10+ Joe.
The more you look at 2016 in isolation the more the Waterford game looks like a systems failure and we should account for Limerick today. We were in a lot worse of a place last May when we lost to them by a point with most of the team off form and our hurling and fitness not up to scratch.
If you look at the team from that match and the one today O’Brien is a big upgrade from an out of form.O’Donovan while Cleary has played very well at centre back and has taken over from Ryan seamlessly while Reidy, Podge and Shanagher are all improvements on Gudgie, Golden and Honan. Andrew Fahey is a very good good keeper and his puckouts are superior to Kelly’s IMHO. While Dillon and David McInerney are in positions this year to impact the game more and both are massive leaders in the set up.
I think our hurling will be sharp today with O’Brien and Kinnerk involved and if we take the handbreak off and get the work rate right I think we are a superior team with more match winners than Limerick. I don’t think Limerick have really improved and English aside they havent really unearned any new players from last year to improve them.
@watchthebreak would you be able to make a gift of Bugler fucking Dowling out of his way like he was a bag of rags?
He could do a montage of him giving the ball away while he’s at it. He’s been poor.
He has been poor on the ball but that is nothing new. He is actually doing well in the physical exchanges and winning plenty of ball
He’s done alright in that regard since they got on top. I thought they were going to keep making a hero of Richie the way they started off.
A win is a win and over the last two years we haven’t done much of that my championship. Of the 5 remaining teams in the championship we’ve beaten 4 of them in competitive action in 2016. We need conlon to come back into his league form and all our injuries to clear up. If we get to croke park who knows…
League form is irrelevant.
