A bit of a mouthful
If they don’t use a Hans Zimmer tune from Gladiator or The Dark Knight in a promotional launch video it will be a serious opportunity missed
And that posted by a guy called @Crutches…
I was at the Club Clare fundraisee lunch in The Four Seasons yesterday. Very enjoyable. Choc a bloc with Clare legends great to see Ger Loughnane there and looking well. I could hear his distinctive laugh across the room on several occasions.
In fairness to the lad, he usually had some limerick cunt on his back at the time. Might have had more to do with it.
Zimmer frames sponsorship is most appropriate for an aging Clare side
Clare being reeled in by Kildare, a six point halftime lead is down to one with the last quarter to come
Level game. Subs have helped steady Clare a bit.
Dermot Coughlan with his second score since coming in. Clare 1-12 Kildare 0-14
Kildare one up again, into five mins additional time
Keelan Sexton goal. 2-12 to 0-16
Full-time
Great win when twas all gone against them. Right back in the promotion mix now
seems to be a trend down that way … mmmmmm
Lads, places for parking today? Thanks
The Industrial Estate opposite the Mart/NCT Centre (not too far from train station just to give an idea). 10 minute walk to Cusack then
Worked out the finest, you’re a gent.
With an eye towards championship, I think the balance of our side was much better in the A/I series when we had Kelly midfield and Fitz half forward rather than both back in the same half forward line like the Munster final. The question is are we picking a team to beat Cork or what is our best 15?
I think Cork have improved from last year. They have addressed the balance of their team, O’Brien might not be as good a ball player than Coleman at wing back but is a solid defender and shores them up a bit more - same too with Roche midfield and Fitzgibbon half forward.
Realistically the only question for Clare from 1 to seven is whether Diarmuid Ryan is ready or not and if not then is it Lohan or Galvin at wing back? Or do they send Malone to wing back to man mark Fitz or Barrett?
The much maligned Shanagher showed his worth last night. I don’t think we have any kind of consistent puckout option without Duggan at half forward. So do they go with both? With Shan inside? Then who loses out? I thought Crotty’s cameo showed why David Fitz is persisted with - while he can be frustrating he probably would have gotten 3 or 4 shots off in the last 10 in the same positions/possessions Crotty had.
I’d be leaning to the below first day out assuming Ryan isn’t ready to start
Quilligan
Leen-Cleary-Hogan
Galvin-Conlon-David Mc
TK-Malone
Fitz-Rodgers-Duggan
Aidan Mc-Shan-Reidy
Subs
Foudy
Woods
Daithi Lohan
Darragh Lohan
Diarmuid Ryan
Ryan Taylor
Sean Rynne
Ian Galvin
Shane Meehan
Jack O’Neill
Patrick Crotty
Taylor, Rynne, Lohan, Galvin and O’Neill for impact off the bench. But Taylor could well start ahead of Shan with Kelly or Rodgers inside
Ian galvin hasn’t been on any match day league squad if I’m not mistaken.
Hip injury - is back training the last week or two
He has hardly played a league match over the last four or five years
