Clare Gaa 🐐 Thread mark II

I think he had gotten a fair amount of chances over the past four years without ever really grasping them. Still plenty of time to bounce back.

For all that we pull out hair out in frustration with David Fitz, he does have periods and moments where he does damage. Crotty came on v Tipp in the league and got on about five balls down the stretch in a tight game where he either fell over, carried it into contact when a shot was on or fumbled. The maligned Fitz would probably have hit 1-2 or more from the same opportunities.

Harry Doherty has been drafted in and O’Farrell has really gone up a couple of levels for Broadford this year - be interesting to see if either can make their mark.

Seems a strange enough case.

I’d say it is completely unrelated to hurling

Rumour has it that Conor Ryan was offered the gig and turned it down

Classic headloss from the Mills there, down to 13 men. Would have had a right chance without the reds, nearly impossible now

Went down to 12. Their Twitter account did a lot of moaning anyway

Apparently it was awful harsh for the first 2, but they’ll get no sympathy from me anyway

Who was the referee?

:laughing::laughing: Love it

The first was clear cut, the 2nd appeared to be for dissent, the 3rd was absolute stupidity and deserved. Sympathy shouldnt even be considered.

Are upper church any good or mills just not great?

The game was tit for tat for the bones of forty minutes and well poised then the mills had two men sent off in short order. You could read nothing into the last 20 minutes.

The Church would be decent albeit not world beaters, no real superstar but a team hard workers who are well drilled. The mils had 2 men sent off 10 minutes into the 2nd half so wouldnt call them not great but discipline had a part to play in 2 of their 3 red cards.

Mills are def good. They won’t be in any threat of relegation in Clare next year at Senior

Classic example of Clare’ tis all the refs fault why dont the little fish evee get the decisions’ syndrome

I was only listening to it on the radio but it was gas, Paul and Ken on Tipp FM were diplomatic enough about the whole thing and just said it was unfortunate and a pity the game was petering out. Turned over to Clare FM and they were on about a full blown conspiracy theory against Clare citing previous incidents like the Aidan McCarthy one, the black card in this years Munster U20 Final and a penalty shootout incident from the Munster Minor Final a few years ago.

Interesting though that when Tipp teams go down to 14 or 13 men, they can knuckle down and still win, and when teams against Tipp teams go down a man or two, the Tipp teams tend to swat them aside with minimal fuss.

Probably down to Tipp teams not being idiots and being able to use the ball smartly.

Funny thing is arguably Shane O’Donnell is 1 of the most lightly officiated players around with his constant overcarrying and attempts to buy soft frees.

Here’s the 2 reds, firstly could easily have been free in but regardless was a brain dead tackle from the no.10 when he was on a yellow, no.12 you only really speculate on that red.

Why are O’Callaghan Mills nicknamed the Fireballs? a quare enough nickname for a GAA club.
