Clare v Cork - GAA Hurling All Ireland Senior Championship 2013 Final - Replay

You fool, Frank has you precisely where he wants you.

Outrageous
This is the obvious clarification to make.

I would allow defenders to charge out as well, once the striker has made initial contact with the ball, ie begun his lift.

If a defender can charge out it the free taker will tend to be more conservative in how many yards he throws it in front of himself.
That is what I thought too.

A superb post by Kev, probably his finest work.

Was it dangerous when Crazy Fitz was banging them in?

One thing the media conveniently ignored about Nash’s frees/penalties is that most of the fouls were actually cynical fouls (ala Sean Kavanagh) to prevent possible goals and there were around six in the two matches (I think Hoggie took a point from one). Also the way Nash was body checked by Clare players on his way up got very little attention.

The above is not my words btw.
