Team has been picked to out hurl Tipp. Hard to see it happening barring our forwards putting in a massive shift work rate wise. Shanahan is an excellent stickman and will deliver fast quality ball inside but lacks pace, good to see him get his chance as he is a real classy hurler. Hard to see our backs hold up without McInerney and OāBrien but we have a punchers chance. Lot of pace and directness and if our work rate and decision making is improved from the Cork game then we have a great chance.
They could well. Problem is that Clare are needing players to find form and it is wishful thinking to just think that they can just turn it on. Pat OāConnor, Fitzgerald, Podge etc all need big performances for us to win but have been middling at best so far in the championship.

Podge was injured last day out was he not? David Mc is a huge loss but Oāconnor is really good defender and given a detail to mark Callanan might not be too bad. I rate Morey highly and Dillon is solid. I actually think the Clare full forward line will damage the tipp full back line more than the other way around all else being equal.

The more I think about the Cork game Joe, Clare werenāt far away at all. Theyāll get on enough ball i reckon, hopefully they deliver to the inside forwards and do damage rather than langering it wide like a tj Ryan coached limerick team.

Morey needs to be put wing back and left there but injuries dictate. He isnāt a corner back and doesnāt read danger, the closer he is kept to goal he struggles. He had a fine 30 minutes at wing back against Cork before being shifted back.
OāConnor is a fine defender but hasnāt looked right this year, still not sharp after missing the league.

What is wrong with Mcinerney? He is a huge loss for Clare. Heās injured a lot.
Did his hamstring in training the week after the Munster final. Had a bad back injury last year and surgery over the winter and another hammer injury in the lead up to the Munster final. Has been a bad 18 months or so for him
I hope it will be like the the replay in 99 when Clare overwhelmed Tipp and only Donncha Fahey stood in the breach and battled the Clare hordes back like Leonidas at Thermopylae.
