28 points of which probably 10 were completely gifted to them by Clare. That with the obvious weaknesses in their full back line and the amount of wides that Clare struck does not bode well for them.
I agree. But a performance like that the next day will not get them over the line against either Galway or Cork.
When Clare look back on that match they will kick themselves. Itās probably the best example in recent times of a team really leaving it behind them.
You could tell that OāDonnell was in the humour to do a bit of damage today and they fed him very little decent ball.
Tipp deserved the win, far more clinical and dominated the physical exchanges at times but Clare very much left them off the hook. Some terrible wides. Cleary was excellent at centre back until running out of steam while after a slow start Jamie Shanahan also had an excellent game.
Peter Duggan pretty much dragged Clare back into it second half and once Tipp got to grips with him they saw it out and pulled away again.
It has to be said Tippās forwards interplay and economy is a good few levels above ours. They are excellent at short sharp passing once they get the ball in hand. Also excellent at reading the breaks and moving off each other.
It takes a long time to develop but in full flow they are a sight to behold. Some of their scores in the opening 15-20 minutes were brilliant in their simplicity
This is what gives us a squeak. Tipp have had best forwards, technique wise, n country for few years now, including KK, was just resolve / mentality stopped us winning more AIs. Plus d greatest team of all time .
