I just said all that to him ffs
Cherish everyone of those phone calls. You seem to have a great relationship with your father as do I.
A lovely post on a Tuesday morning.
My old fella will be sending me text messages all week. āAny news from the campā.
If I donāt respond within half an hour, he will send it again. And again.
Heās on holidays in West Cork and is thinking of coming up. He doesnāt travel to matches much in the last few years. The same fella hasnāt gone to Croke Park for a match since 01 final. Heād have gone to every All Ireland final from mid 60s to late 70s/early 80s, and a good few football ones, but donāt think he was too enamoured with the redevelopment of Croke Park, or with Dublin itself. Heās old school
I never realised you knew my father, pal. Let me know the next youāre popping into see him and Iāll try to get down to Wexford that day too.
You wonāt be driving though?
@carryharry there will be a market on by the pier on Sunday, thatās why iām telling my good friend @Bandage to park before the Castle and walk over - if the weather is anyway decent the market is usually jammers - He could park in the ursulines alright but iām not sure what time they close their gates.
Ah itās great tbh. Even during the teenage years when we were at each others throats, sports particularly hurling always made us put our differences aside and the frinds hip blossomed and matured into more is a sibling relationship as Igot older. Now itās great as my eldest is really into it and the three of us head off to matches.
Sorry pal, itās a lot of effort but there is no parking at the pier head, itās in the middle of the village with nothing but narrow roads leading to it, the Ursuline convent has expensive apartments now and I suspect they will allow no parking.
@Bandage, if you would like to spend some time in beautiful Blackrock village and stroll up the marina watching the rowing boats then I suggest you aim for Meadowgrove estate, park up and walk the 3 or 4 minutes to the village, itās very handy from the first exit after the tunnel, I can help more closer to Saturday if you need, you could also park up by. Pairc ui Rinn/ Cork Con and have your pint in Balintemple not bad to get out of either.
If your on the Mahon side of Blackrock Village (Meadowgrove or Ringmahon road) afterwards and want to avoid some traffic then drive down past Ringmahon Rangers and Ballinure pitches, carry on straight and the road will bring you all around leaving Mahonpoint on your left hand side, you will then join the road that leads to the tunnel and probably have saved significant time unless too many people are told about this local āknackā
What way are you going into cork
I told him all that already. Stop wasting his time.
With all due respect mate, a post you made about a week ago has convinced me that you havenāt an iota where youāre going when youāre driving around Blackrock/Mahon/Ballinlough with your L plates,
2 steamers
Mate, you also said that itās a 15 minute walk from the car park on the far side of the castle to the stadium. Iām pretty sure it would take Bandage about 40 minutes to run it.
Look mate, you seem to be throwing your weight around a lot in my direction today, I was only trying to help my good buddy @bandage he can take it or leave it, doesnāt matter a fuck to me.
An Irish 15 mins - point taken on @Bandage tho - perhaps 45 mins for him.
Seriously tho, itās only about 10-15 from the pier to the stadium ā¦ heās only around the bend on castle road.
Iām very tempted to go to this fixture myself now.
Well @Joe_Player. What do you reckon bud?
You donāt seem as enthusiastic as you did before the Munster Final. Surely ye have a shot?
Join me on the Terrace?
Iām only venturing to one of them, mateā¦ Iāll see what @Fagan_ODowdās plans are first and then iāll make my decision.
