Club Championships 2010

Or alternatively Golden were just shitter than them.

 , any shocks in the football in Kerry?

I wouldn’t know i only follow Limerick GAA matters…

this is the GGA buddy- hyperbole rules the roost

Dunph feeling brave here. Wonder why that is

End of his inter county career more than likely.

For this season anyway, was starting to show a little bit of form, pity.

Only saw this now, fuck sake mbb, the hone???

H’on the Hone.

Am hearing from Laois that Tom Kelly was badly injured in a Club game on the weekend. 3 broken vertebrae and currently in Tullamore Hospital. Safe to say its unlikely he’ll ever kick again. Don’t believe it was a dirty tackle, tough robust one at best. He wa in the process of making his way back from two previous bad groin and knee injuries. A tremendous footballer, it’d be fierce sad if he couldnt have carried on to kick a bit of ball with his club.

Make sense of this in todays examiner. Is he injured or not?

"Meanwhile Waterford defender Jamie Nagle is not expected to face a long stint on the sidelines despite limping off in his club Dungarvan’s county SHC tie against Lismore on Sunday afternoon. Nagle pulled a hamstring and exited the action before half-time but could yet play a role for his club in championship next weekend.

What bit don’t you understand?

First line says:

Tom has a broken neck alright, very close to being paralysed acc to reports.

Hate hearing about shit like that.

The Limerick Senior Football championship is kicking off this weekend.
I may do some previews, but not sure if there’s the interest.

Mis-read. Its hamstring pull though. A week?

Anyway thats awful news about Tom Kelly, must have been a desperate belt. I have a close relative who was cut off in his prime as well and was mad about the GAA and was good as well, hard to take. Even if not paralyzed he’ll have a brutal long recovery.

Seems he should make a full recovery, but its going to be a long way back

Former Laois football All Star Tom Kelly might never play again after breaking a bone in his neck playing for St Joseph’s last Sunday.

Kelly picked up the injury in the ACFL Division 1 game against Arles-Killeen after a heavy challenge and scans showed he broke one vertebrae and fractured two more.

He was expected to be released from hospital in Tullamore yesterday but he could be in a neck brace for up to eight weeks and won’t be able to work (he’s a carpenter) for some time.

According to sources, the initial prognosis was that he was lucky the injury wasn’t worse but Kelly was still in considerable pain yesterday.

Kelly won an All Star in 2003 after excelling in Laois’ Leinster-winning campaign and was also selected on the Irish International Rules team for that year’s trip. He won eight international caps and twice travelled Down Under, where he was Ireland’s player of the series in 2005.

Tough for a lad to be laid up out of work. Haven’t heard much details on it, hard to knwo what way to read it. One or two Arles Killeen boys wouldnt be simple as I have posted up here before.

  • Newcastle West are going very well at the moment
  • Fr Caseys going well
  • Drom are drom
  • Adare going very poorly
  • Senans got a nice trimming off NCW last week in the west senior championship (not a proper champ though)
  • Ballysteen were also well beat by NCW in an earlier round of it

[/quote]Runt Ballysteen will blow St Pats off the field.

What makes you think that?

Pats will be chomping at the bit in their first year up senior, and have a heap of challenge games under their belts, whereas Ballysteen have had a far more hap-hazard start to the year. Ray hayes is out injured for them and are down a couple of forwards on last year. It should be a good game though.

Alan O’ Connor playing with NCW runty?
