Club Championships 2010

Had Celtic their biggest game of the season four days ago before the Utrecht game?

yes

Can’t wait to soften a few townie cunts this evening.

Best of luck Runty - please score more than 1 point.

Powers go 11/10 over 1.5pts. Get on.

Townie cunts softened

Won 8 to 3 but I failed to raise a flag.
Very poor fare, ruined by a cross field breeze.

From results I heard I believe St Pats have pulled off the unlikeliest of escape acts by not only avoid relegation but sneaking into the quarter final spot. These are unconfirmed results though.

Newtown and Erins Own drew tonight in a bit of a cracker in the Pairc. Goal in extra-time by ‘The Hero’ got the draw for EO.

From what I know the quarters final will line out like this:

A. Fr Caseys V St Pats
B. Ballylanders V Ballysteen

Semi Final

Drom V Winner of A
Adare V Winner of B

Was talking to one me the lads from erins own, he thought they were muck.

You looking forward to the match next weekend Turenne? Great colour around the parish.

Erins Own are generally a bit shit, they grind out results almost completely through getting numbers behind the ball and working hard. Shit team to watch but difficult to beat, particularly for a team like Newtown that need room to play.

Looking forward to the match alright. The colour around C’Martyr is a bit sparse, I’d imagine Duns have made a better effort. I’d have them down as favourites personally, don’t have a good feeling about the game at all.

I was up there the other night, not bad. The village isn’t great, you’re right. Wouldn’t know about the two teams, just good that they both made it through. Going to go to the game though my mind will be on the day after

C’Martyr would have the more talented players, but Dungourney have beaten the better teams and have shown the better form. TBF we didn’t show incredible form last year either before we absolutely blitzed Sars in the second half in the final.

If you want some info on both teams before the match feel free to ask. Useful to know who to look out for going into games

I was incorrectly informed last night, pats did beat monaleen but not by enough t c them over take monaleen in the table. So it’s caseys v monaleen in the other quarter

No excuse not to be in the final now

Victories for Sars and Blackrock down in Cork.

Not much to say about the opening game, very poor standard. Thought Blarney looked to have a bit more about them for the majority of the game but Blackrock were more clinical and scored some nice points in the second half before Colin Murphy goaled. I’m at a loss as to why the two O’Keeffe’s didn’t start for Blackrock - they won them the game when they came on.

Sars hammered Bride Rovers without ever looking that impressive. I still wouldn’t fancy them for the county. Cian MacCarthy played well, and Daniel Kearney looks to me to be a future inter-county hurler, despite his small-ish size. Fraggie was poor - looks to have lost the zip he once had.

Great win for the underdogs in the Dublin SFC at the weekend with Trinity Gaels beating the mercenaries of Parnells by a point. Great news this. It just shows you cant buy success. Also had a Fiver on TG for the win at 4/1, Parnells went into the game as 1/8 favourites.

great stuff, that’s good to hear.

 great news that. Whats the deal with Trinity these days, I heard they were in serious bother there for a while?

They still are MBB, they are not safe in the league, hopefully this will give them a lift to get themselves out of trouble. The problem is getting new players for Adult teams. Unfortunately they are in an area where they are surrounded by 5 or 6 clubs like Naomh Barrog, Raheny, O’Tooles, Parnells, Naomh Mearnog, Clontarf and then there are Vincents and Croabh Ciarans not too far away as well. The area they are in now is a grown up area where a lot of the players that played for the club would have moved out of the area. Add into this the loss of a couple of players through injury and they are down to the bare bones. But still great to see them pull a result out of the bag like this especially with all the imports that Parnells have gotten.

Didnt Trinity Gaels sign up some deal with the College there a while back? I remember seeing something about it in the Herald, an effort to get players who might be there finishing college and planning to stay in Dublin to kick with them. I could be wrong on it, but thats how I picked it up?
