Club Championships 2017

:rofl::rofl:

Itā€™s preety poor in Cork. The county team are punching above their weight considering the lack of quality at club level.

That means nothing anymore and hasnā€™t for a long time, when was the last time a Cork senior club team were even competitive at the provincial stage?

Not sure what you are sayimg here.

But the standard has risen a touch. However Blackrock threw i the towel 2 weeks ago and decided they had no interest. Ferghal ruans comments during the week were strange if honest.

Physical preparation is taken way more seriously in Limerick and Tipp at least, i daresay Warerfodd and Clare too.
The level of coaching is Cork is appalling. The merry-go-round of coaches is hilarious. All haveiky influenced by the Donal O grady era.

Things are improving in ways but the fatcical situation with Senior hurlers will set the county back. Blackrock certainly have not helped.

We do not produce physically imposing players anymore. I coetely out that at the door of drill based system based coaching. Size is not the issue. Robustness is

What farcical scenes with senior hurlers?

What Iā€™m saying is the standard of club hurling in cork is shite and has been for a number of years. Regardless of the reasons why, it is shite.

Ya when they get out they are not physical enough and this makes the entire thing look shote. I 100% accept that.

However thos year, at the standard it was, it was a great chanpionship.

And the reasons matter. They matter alot.

Na Piarsaigh were always going to dismantle whatever Cork side were there; they look better this year than even two years ago. A bit of a slip-up against Adare but theyā€™ve come back strongly. They look very slick and have a lot of pace & power too. But most importantly, they just have good hurlers all over the pitch. Maybe theyā€™re a bit vulnerable in their full-back line and Ballygunner will test that out.

Saw the Waterford final and it was hard to tell how good Ballygunner were. They looked the better team against the Bridge today but Iā€™d still fancy Na Piarsaigh against them. Cuala look a proper team too, and Iā€™d be thinking a Na Piarsaigh-Cuala final would be a very good contest if things were to work out that way.

What Limerick regulars have NAP?

Itā€™s hard to know how good NAP are they havenā€™t been tested all year

In fairness it wouldnt be like the limerick gaa lads to be over optimistic about their chances

I am no lover of Na P but they have some record in this competition and have earned the right to be confident .

The 2 Caseys, Dempsey, Dowling all regular starters this year. Downes missed the Championship through injury, may or may not have started. David Breen has retired from intercounty but is a huge player for them.

Then you have WOD, Ronan Lynch, Alan Dempsey were on the extended panel; WOD playing quite a few games in the League.

But pretty much their first 24-26 have played intercounty at minor or U-21 level at least.

I donā€™t give a fuck about Na Piarsaigh, but they are clearly a very very strong club side.

They are. A serious side. Physical, very fit, good forwards, pace, well able to battle.

They are a serious side.

Very similar to Ballygunner in that sense, probably more established inter country players on the BG side. NAP seem to be a bigger team, the open spaces of Thurles where I presume the game will be played will suit both teams. Thereā€™ll be very little in it either way, youā€™d think 4 very tough games in 4 weeks will stand to BG. NAP missing Dowling, BG missing Brian Sullivan - a very 50/50 game.
I wonder if Cuala are as strong as they are made out to be either. Thereā€™s fuck all competition in Leinster

Cuala won the all Ireland last year and at this juncture I think the team that beats them will win it out .

Have limerick established players cc @caulifloweredneanderthal @ChocolateMice
