Club Championships 2019

Is Conor Mc Carthy struggling to fulfil his unbelievable promise @Tank?

If I recall correctly he was heavily involved in the “Fenway Brawl” between Galway & Dublin too.

Could someone explain to me KK championship, earlier in the year Ballyhale seemed to be losing plenty of games and I might be wrong but were they a game away from a relagation battle ?

Sketchy memory but I know league ties in with championship. Is there divisional like Tipp no?

@Malarkey step in.

Probably asked plenty times before like Kerry football championship.

Actually I think I may be doing Nolan a dis service here and don’t think he was in goal at the time. Sorry Alan.

Two groups of 6 in League. Play your 5 games.
Come first or second you’ve a bye to quarters.

First round is:
Two 3v4
Two 5v6 (doubles as a relegation semi final)

Hang on that makes sense now in terms of the league games, people seem to build them up but you’ve plenty of chances to make amends.

So Ballyhale came 5th. Played Ballyragget round 1 and got back on track.

QFs are seeded. 1st round winners in one pot, teams who got a bye in the other.

Last time I’m fooled into thinking a team is in trouble early on in the year.

You’re certainly making things harder on yourself. But it’s not a total disaster.

Ballyhale seem to be doing ok.

I popped over to watch it earlier as I was home.
Loughlins got an early goal and were well in it but Ballyhale hit 1-3 just before HT which really put them in control. HT was 1-12 1-8. Ballyhale hit another goal early in the second half through Adrian Mullen who had 1-4 despite barely being involved. He’s a curious case. They ended up relatively comfortable winners. 2-20 1-14. Darren Mullen was MOTM on KCLR. Hard to argue with it. Mopped up a load of ball. Mick Fennelly put in a good shift at 6. Next week will be interesting.

It’s crazy. They go from Henry-TJ-Mullen.
If a county team did that you’d be blessed.

There is indeed a holy rock in Clontibret just like Father Ted says. It’s a former mass rock.

Yes, he’s as quick as anything and he has unbelievable energy levels but he’s one of the worst shooters you’ve ever seen.

But he won a series of county championships with Scotstown and made an Ulster club final so he’s not doing that badly.

Interesting. Hard to believe he’s that bad a shooter. I thought when I first saw him he was going to be unbelievable. Now that you mention it I recall a horrendous wide from him against kerry last year in the Super 8s game when ye were well on top in the first half.

Filth from Nolan

Rathdowney Errill are back on top in Laois after a bit of a disappointing final yesterday. It was never going to live up to the replayed stormer between the sides a few years back, but this one never really caught fire and in the end Rathdowney Errills backs crushed anything Borris Kilcotton had up front, and their forwards were just that much better. So a 5 point with for RE, who I wouldn’t be very confident about getting anything out of Leinster truth be told.

The big story of the day was Rosenallis however, who are now the only Dual Senior Club in Laois, after winning the Senior B title against The Harps to go with their Intermediate title won a few weeks ago against those Clonaslee cunts (@anon67715551). It truly is an astonising achievement for a club who were in their 3rd tier in both codes only 3 or 4 years ago. And an amount of dual players there too, just an example of how a Club should go about their business. They had fucking nothing some 10 years ago, made a rule in the club to pay no outside managers and no excess to be spent on adult sides, to put all their resources into youth coaching and field development. They now have the facilities and the players, and stand alone as a dual club at senior. Staying there might not be beyond them either, as the football is a 16 team tournament with about half a dozen sides circling the drain, and in the hurling, while its an 8 team tournament, theres the likes of Ballinakill who are clinging on by the talent of Cha for sometime now.

The Harps will be seething over this, as they are now firmly stuck in Senior B. However, they’ve won the 11, 13, Minor and will probably win the U20 also in Laois, all at A level, and are coming like a train.

Anyway, fair fucks to them.
