Really high quality stuff so far in Dingle v Crokes.
As good a game of football as youâd see on the telly in September in any year previously
Tyler Walsh on duty in Fraher Field.
Should contribute to a good one.
Gunner going to the boardroom to get off suspensions now. No wonder theyâre so despised
Aidan O Mahoney looked grand and fit there
Tylerâs left the whistle at home
Where is Abbeysideâs spare man?
Philip Mahony is closing the space in front of the Abbeyside FF line and Ballygunner have so much space at the other end.
Abbeyside getting sucked up the field, playing into their hands.
Goal Dessie. That could be that.
Itâs ridiculous the control and dominance they have in such a strong hurling county.
Pat Shea is at it a while now
Brian Looney some man to draw a free
Ballygunner up 13 at HT.
Fair auld breeze but hard to see Abbeyside making much inroads into it. Ballygunner just too cute for them.
Dylan Geaney is seriously accurate. Surely in line to start next year for Kerry
That 2 for Dingle has been hopeless all evening
Ballygunner coasting to a 26 point victory in the secondary county ground to win their 18th county title in a row epitomises the very best of the GAA.
Ballygunner win by 18 and have a lot of room for improvement.
Abbeyside never showed up really.
Round 4 of the Dublin SHC played out at the weekend with results leading to a bit of clarity.
Group 1
Cuala 1-28 St Brigids 0-13
I watched the first half of this before tipping in to see the second game on the card. Cuala were on top throughout. Con was introduced after 20 mins for an injury and was the best player on the pitch despite a miss for the ages. The result in the later game eliminated Cuala but they can be happy with their season. They were a lot more competitive than it thought they might be. They more than likely have Craobh in a relegation playoff and should see them off handily. Brigids look in rag order. A double sending off highlighting their indiscipline. They are short a good few and carrying at least five lads who are no where near this level. Theyâll do well to stay up from here.
Kilmacud 0-19 Lucan 1-16
@Loko_Cove gave a good run down on this game. The point shared ensures progression to the knockout stages for both teams. Lucan are gas, competitive against the best teams but open to be turned over by the weakest. Crokes seemed to have this game done on 60mins with a 5 point lead. However a very soft goal gave Lucan a lifeline which they took. Crokes should really have been out of sight. They hit some very poor wides while Lucan were very efficent from play although Coffey was poor on frees. The sweeper system Crokes play seems to hold them back a bit. They would have won handily with six forwards.
Crokes, Lucan and Na Fianna can fill in the top 3 spots in any order on gameday 5 depending on results.
Group 2.
St Vincents 1-16 Whitehall 1-16
Vins top the group with this result and bypass the qf stage. However their old failings came back to haunt them. They were 8-2 up after 15 mins and fell into complacency. Shot selection and shot efficency their downfall. Whitehall stayed in the game gamely and took the lead with a well taken 2nd half goal. Vins equalised in injury time courtesy of a Cian McBride goal. Whitehall will be sick as a win wouldâve guaranteed knockout hurling. Theyâll have another chance to secure it next day out.
Ballyboden 2-24 St Judes 1-15
Only spoke to someone who was at this. Boden were in control thoughout. The win secures 2nd place in the group. Judes have still a chance to progress on the final day vs Whitehall.
@Fat_Pox how many frees does a free taker miss before you change things up? Interesting one, as Harkness and Keher can both take them but Coffey kept stepping up
I think he missed four. Got a handy one on the 21 to stop the rot. Harkness was good on them last year. Never saw Keher take them.
Three misses and Iâd be changing up.
I think 3 myself yeah. The main reason Lucan are competitive against the top teams and struggle against weaker is pure and simple, Senior Level defense, relegation fodder forwards.
