Danny the yank was around 18 when he moved to Ireland but Iād say that was around 1980. He had played some football in the states before he came to Ireland ā¦ a brilliant basketball player as well
Every year they should get a pro sportsman in to play on a gga team to see can they win it

Watched back the TV coverage of the Hurling Final there last night.
Loughrea couldnāt lay a glove on them really but a couple of aspects of Chris Mooneyās performance stuck out.
The throw in at the start of the match was absolutely hilarious stuff and there was a free in given to Loughrea early in the second half after OāKeeffe made a save from Caimin Killeen that baffled me at the time, and baffled me even more looking back on it.
Why is it such a thing now when someone fucks up a goal chance they get a sympathy free in as compensation? The same thing happened in the Walsh Cup Final on Saturday where Sean Brennan made a fine save from a tight angle and it was pulled back for a free on the 21 for some phantom foul.
A professional soccer player was unable to oust Clucko from the Dublin team. An elite 400m runner couldnāt hack it either.

Yeh Supple played championship for Ipswich but couldnāt hold a candle to the Sweeper Keeper when it came to the OāNeills ball

also at the county board meeting this week, a motion was passed to reverse the decision to exclude B teams from the A teams county league. Dr Crokes fought that won hard to get B teams back in and won out in the end
