Are AGB the crowd that have come up just short a few times in recent years ?
Themselves and An Tóchar would both fit that description. AGB were junior about 15 years ago and Arklow was always considered a soccer town but the football side of their club has had a resurgence at underage during that period and they’ve been knocking on the door at senior for a good few years now. They’ve never won the senior title in Wicklow. Ciaran Hyland who was on those Micko teams started today. He must be pushing 45. The addition of Ben Brosnan has transformed Carnew. They spent over a decade in intermediate before winning promotion last year.

I remember playing a match down there years ago and thinking if a row started you’d be long dead before anyone knew it . Really remote spot in the hills

Right on the Wexford border. If you think Carnew is remote then you should see the areas around Laragh and Glendalough. Laragh got beaten in the intermediate semi-final by Avondale today. For all the tourism in that area I’d imagine they have a smallish pick.

These two pointers are a farce.
How are Four Masters doing in Donegal this year, are they still in it? I see they were in the last 3 Ulster club minor finals, winning 2.
Great drama at the end there in Wexford Park. Ferns trailed Shels by 4 in the 3rd minute of injury time before Paul Morris pulled a goal back from what appeared to be a square ball. Niall Murphy equalised from down town with the wind and then Johnny Dwyer won it for Ferns with the last puck. Shels are fuming and the ref has just been heckled as he leaves the pitch.
