Coach Klopp - dream maker

They should give Klopp a medal for getting more than 90 points in a season :joy: :joy:

The Dutch 70s team would be best example.

English football from 1968 to 1975 was the Leeds era. They won two league titles five years apart, one FA Cup and failed to win the European Cup. But English football revolved around them for that time.

It is relevant in fairness… He pushed a state backed team, which was far superior to Liverpool’s team, to record breaking points… They were near perfect for 2/3 years but were just short a bit of luck .

The team had Robertson, Henderson, Trent, Milner as regulars… Maybe a bit harsh on Milly, but if you’re talking top, top players he’s a bracket below…
Yes, you get nothing for second place but he had a good team punching way above it’s standard.

I think Liverpool could fall away to 6th/7th without him… Unless Slotto has it.

Arsenal Invincibles should really gave won a European Cup. Went back 2 years later with a shell of that team and nearly did it.

Chelsea were playing beautiful stuff in 2010 and were done over by Barca and the ref iirc. The Jose team plus Deco, Ballack, Anelka and Ivanovic.

Jose obviously had some great battles with Barca and Lpool too first time around and never had much luck.

United not winning one in the few years after 99’ was underachievement. Probably because they sold Stam.

Mane and Firmino going was huge. They were elite individually and in combination with Salah. Salah is fit to kill the other guys, there is only really Diaz that gets it and he lost a bit of pace off that injury.

England at Euro 96 maybe, Argentina at World Cup 06’. International football tends to lend itself to unlucky losers. France could be unbeaten since 16’.

Coulda, shoulda, didn’t at the end of the day. Klopp’s Liverpool are serial losers

Jota a huge loss

Jota gets it to be fair. His absence has been felt more than Trent and Alisson this season in my opinion.

When you break down Klopp’s record at Liverpool:

2015/16: Inherits a shell of a team where journalists were publishing articles saying “only 4 of Brendan Rodgers 27 signings have been a success”. Subsequently takes that team to two cup finals within the first few months. Clyne at RB, veteran Kolo Toure CB, Moreno LB, Joe Allen and Lucas starting regularly in midfield.

2016/17: Finishes top 4 in his first full season. Liverpool had finished outside the top 4 in 6 of the previous 7 seasons. Had augmented the team with Mane and Gini by this point.

2017/18: Reaches a Champions League final in the season Liverpool played a first knockout Champions League game in 9 (nine) years. Finishes top 4 again when many doubted they would due to the toll of extra game. Adds Salah, Robertson and Van Dijk during this season with Coutinho leaving for an astronomical fee.

2018/19: 97 points domestically, 30 wins from 38 in the league somehow not enough to win the league. Wins the Champions League instead with a stunning comeback against Barca and a memorable victory in Munich.

2019/20: Wins the league at a canter despite making no significant signing in the summer of 19’. Goes on a 44 game unbeaten run during this spell which eventually ends at Watford. Wins the league with about 7 games to go.

2020/21: The near 4 year unbeaten run at Anfield comes to a halt as the season threatens to come off the rails but manages to salvage 3rd with a starting CB partnership of Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams/Ozan Kabak.

2021/22: Wins both domestic cups, 92 points in the league but falls agonisingly short. Reaches a 3rd Champions League final in 5 seasons but falls short after a MOTM performance from Courtois.

2022/23: Form dips as the effects of the unprecedented quadruple bid take their toll. Finishes outside the top 4 for the first time.

2023/24: Makes a valiant attempt at a title bid with an entirely new midfield. VAR debacle in 3 big games during the year play a part in thwarting this challenge but ultimately the profligate attackers look to have cost him an epic farewell. Wins the League Cup with a mixture of youth prospects and a few veterans.

A phenomenal post pal. What a ride it has been.

I joined TFK in the summer of 2015, and Klopp has been manager for almost the entirety of my time here. A very special man(ager) at a very special club, with very special fans.

WE ARE LIVERPOOL

So in summary 1 covid league title in 9 years, won a CL against fucking Spurs and a couple of mickey mouse cups. Wow.

Indeed. The points tally focus is very odd. It’s like some snooker pro who didn’t win the world championships totting up how many frames he won over the course of the event. Nobody cares.

History will be kinder to Klopp when City are stripped of those titles.

Pep made City fans dream, they can’t take dreams away*.

*they wont take the titles either

Great to see proper football men like @the_man_himself and @Locke signing in first day as Klopp backers. I’d imagine if @neilld was on board at the time, he’d have been in too.
