im hearing great reviews so far on the gig last night. anyone go or going tonite? I like their music but its all a bit, I cant think of the word to describe it…the same. A bit like Oasis. I wouldnt be Chris Martins biggest fan though.
Thought their first album showed potential and thought they may kick on from there but alas they seemed more intent on selling stadiums and believing their own hype, particluarly their utter gobshite of a front man.
Plus it turns out that they don’t have any musical ability which is a bit of a problem.
I’d share your take on that Farmer. I really liked their first album and thought stuff like Spies, Shiver and Yellow (before it became so incredibly overplayed) was excellent. It reminded me quite a bit of Radiohead but they’ve moved from guitars to piano led singalong choruses for people who don’t possess any testicles so I don’t retain any interest in them.
‘Don’t Panic’ was a decent song.
That first album reminds me of first year in college actually.
