GOLDHAWK IS intrigued to see a number of familiar faces feature in High Court proceedings lodged this morning.
It is a case of a battle of the think tanks, with businessman Chay Bowes of Health Reform Ireland taking on Gary Kavanagh of the Edmund Burke Institute and Gript Editor, John McGuirk.
An article authored by Kavanagh for Gript last November alleged that Bowes was the person behind an anonymous social media account.
The article features a number of screenshots from Twitter with Kavanagh naming Bowes in each instance. While acknowledging that the āaccount is anonymousā, Gript states that it has ābeen able to confirm that the account is indeed a private account used between 2011 and 2015 by Bowes.ā
Bowes had no comment to make when contacted by Gript and denied holding any of alleged views when separately questioned by the Sunday Times the following week.
Bowes, who is a former head of the VHI home care division, gained something of a profile last year having contributed to Village Magazineās story about Leo Varadkarās āconfidentialā leak.
Solicitors, Arthur McLean Solicitors of Dublin will be litigating on his behalf.
John McGuirk will be banking on the reliability of his sources.
