Sincere congratulations to Kilkenny. You only get so many years to watch the game of hurling and I for one am privileged to have lived at the same time as the greatest team there has ever been. We’ll be talking about these players for the rest our lives. A great final, a great team, and great champions.
Fuck them!!
That manager is pickled from drink. Fucking paedo.
Fair play to them, super team…Showed their class when a lesser team would have thrown in the towel…
I’d like to echo WTB’s post, a truly great great team. Well done Kilkenny.
They needed a break and got it with the penalty - after that there was only going to be one winner.
If they hadn’t got the penalty, I think Tipp would have won.
For beating Tipp.
Tipp were hungrier today and they closed Shefflin out of it yet it still wasnt enough. Class team. I think they would have taken it regardless of the red card or the penalty, they are good enough to beat any team with a few bursts and they did it today with just one.
They do what needs to be done.
We are lucky to be of this era.
Well done Kilkenny, never in doubt.

I don’t know - Tipp had the momentum until that dodgy penalty.
That said it was as fine of a match as I have seen and either team would have been worthy winners over the year.

:D:clap: Best final in many a year.
Tipp really put it up to KK today and probably hurled the better over the course of the game but couldn’t take their goal chances. Had they done so I think they would have squeezed home regardless of the dodgy penalty.
KK deserve huge credit for the four in a row, they have shown themselves to be the best hurling team of this generation and possibly of all time. We wont necessarily look back over the last as a golden age for hurlng but KK have exemplified all that is good about hurling and have been the benchmark for all other teams.

surely a good final should have more skill- not much pieces of individual brilliance - more 2 workmanlike teams giving 100%
I’d like to take this very rare oppurtunity to praise the behaviour of the Kilkenny supporters for making complete and utter fools of the Croke Park authorities. Normally such dour and boring bastards, but today’s display was exemplary. Kudos.
Surely one of the hallmarks of a good final is that its evenly contested?.
Todays was the first competitive final in years. The conditions mitigated against skill today but notwithstanding that there were outstanding skills exhitited today. The ability of the Tipp backs to catch ball under pressure was a joy to watch, the tenacity and workrate of both teams was exemplary. Also there were some fantastic scores today, Corbett got a great point at the end of the first half, Shane Mcgrath, Eoin Kelly got great points in second half. Eddie Brennan, Tommy Walsh, Jackie Tyrell got superb points for KK.

It was funny seeing ‘Plan B’ appearing on the scoreboard.
Plan A - hold firm and don’t let them out.
Plan B - let them out.
Before Plan B was officially launched, I saw some lads being dragged off the pitch by cops and stewards. They were hardly arrested when everyone was let out a few minutes later.

nah, two jumior teams could be competitive playing against each other- some of the goal misses from both sides were shocking. there were some great points but it was more of an agressive game than a hugely skillful one - a good exciting game but not a classic - compared to the other ones this year it stood out
those two lads, the first from the cusack and the second from the hill made a burst and both were caught in the middle of the field and literally dragged off by the cops and simply fucked back into the crowd. funny stuff.
plan b was definitely let them off and retreat to safety.
The delayed pitch invasion was exactly what I had hoped for because it meant maximum embarrassment for Cooney and McKenna. Long may crowds on the field be a part of All-Ireland Final day.
