Connacht Rugby Bandwagon Thread

Earls, pom, Murray and Crowley all went to the last World Cup together.

You don’t even believe your rubbish you’re just too stubborn to admit you are wrong.

Irfu have basically admitted it’s unfair by the 30 percent cuts on central contracts.

That’ll go to 50 percent soon and then they’ll be gone and what will is happen the provinces will be a lot more equal again.

And I’ll be proven correct.

There’s a ten year age gap between three of those and Crowley.

What’s that got to do with anything?

The ten year gap in Munster producing international class players.

They literally went to the last World Cup together.

There is no ten year gap.

Munster haven’t produced an elite level player but they don’t grow on trees.

Munster produced wood and Jerry flannery came three years after him.

Leinster didn’t produce a top level hooker for twenty odd years before three came along in a short period of time.

Munster slightly unlucky Mike sherry and Duncan Casey got so many injuries.

You don’t just produce elite level players. You produce a base level of player every year and every so often an elite one will pop up.

That’s what is happening in Munster. It just happens Leinster in a lot more because of their private investment.

I regret bumping this thread

There’s a ten year gap. If you look at the ages of those four players it will become apparent to you.

So you’ve nothing only the bowl of soup you swallowed earlier.

So you can’t read numbers.

It’s fair apparently

It’s an absolute joke and you’ve fellas like @glasagusban accepting it all.

I think it needs to come to a point where all private backers are disclosed that supplement the IRFU. Whether it’s O’Brien, McIlroy, the Munster private group or the lads Connacht had contribute to the stadium redevelopment costs. I’ve never seen a sport where private investors are such an Eyes Wide Shut protected species.

First and foremost the four provinces should have equal budgets.

There should be no central contracts.

Leinster have all the advantages as it is. At least it gives the other three provinces a chance so that everyone has to operate on the same budget.

I wouldn’t be averse to a cap across european teams. Works extremely well in other sports (particularly NRL).

Might still be some inequality with some teams not able to meet the cap but would at least set limits of power of money and competitive advantages need to be found through other means of the clubs setup and organisation- eg development, efficient backroom etc

With all the wealth the french have in rugby, says something that they recognise the value in implementing it

Signing in for my first live match of the season from Castlebar. Absolutely pissing rain. Hopefully I might bump into the spirit of the great @BruidheanChaorthainn at some stage.

Pity about the weather. Good atmosphere around the town? Brilliant to get a game up there

That wasn’t a red card challenge. Connacht player dipped just before the contact.

Ah it definitely was. Never wrapped his arms and v dangerous as evidenced by player being sparked out

I’m a massive fan of Nankevell. But I’d say that is his second red for Munster. And he has had at least one v lucky escape on top of that…maybe against Stade or Sarries this season
