I know his boss. She says he is a genuinely nice young man, and very bright. She said he listened politely to one of the office girls talking at length about her junior camogie career, and didn’t say a word about himself. The girl had no idea who he was.
He is an outstanding forward, but you just can’t compare players accurately really. You would need to take a straw poll of senior backs, and see who they would least like to mark, and even then it would be skewed. I doubt, unfortunately, that the contemporary joe canning would feature too highly on that list, but I could be wrong*
He’s not even the best forward in Clare imo
His movement, touch, ability to make space for himself and scoring ability is the best in the game imo. I’d rate r power as up dere with the best and he’s v good under high ball too.
His father Joe, a Toomevara man, taught me in school. Sound fella, fierce hurling man but mad as an itchy badger.*
*Joe, that is.

Sexton Street? He was career guidance counsellor by the time I left the mad cunt. Geography was his subject. Prior why’s it raining? The clouds, sir!
Yeah, he taught me geography. Some man to describe moraines, alluvium and oxbow lakes in a Tipperary accent.
I think Ritchy Power is the best forward in the country (at this particular moment in time).
McGrath is up there for sure
McGrath is the best at the moment for me. Smashing player.
Does he play in the full forward line for the Cratloe footballers too?
Joe was an excellent teacher, one of the best in Sexton Street. A sound man you can’t beat breeding.

Plays either wing forward or corner but drifts out the field an covers a lot of ground and is their main link man pulling the strings
He is class
unreal
Is calvin better
Calvin Johnson is a serious detail but it is hard to compare a hurler to an American Football player
Currently, on form, probably. Callanan, Power, and Reid the closest other contenders. I still think Canning is the best forward and player in the country if utilised properly with a decent team around him, like in 2012.
Calvin is better.
I was talking to him in a deli in limerick the other day As he was departing i congratulated him on winning the county final which the lady at the till over heard. she asked me did he play sport so i explained to her who he was.
she was in shock since he has been going in there for years and they hadn`t a clue who he was.
class act on and off the field
i wouldn`t swop him for any forward in the country at present
And his sister is a camogie all star.
