Isn’t this the type of forum where we cut the legs from under each other?
I’ve seen a few installs.
It takes up a surprising amount of space. I don’t know where I’d put it.
How much for a retrofit?
Be very wary of retrofitting Air to Water.
Those system are really designed to put into houses that are airtight.
If your original structure wasn’t built to take air to water you’d want to get some proper independent tests done first.
You’d need the whole shebang done like insulation, windows etc.
Informative rating.
I presume ventilated wooden floors would be a no-no?
The proper radiators a big thing too I think.
You would want to get the house as insulated as much as possible. Triple glazed windows, new doors, attic packed and walls pumped and wrapped first. Block up the chimney too
I may knock it altogether*.
*Not going to happen.
No bother getting them now. The boys in Stradbally are flat to the mat at them. Price has come back a bit too.
Good advice. Waste of money on an old house seems to be the feedback.
Great to hear Laois is good for something.
Nothing to do with the nGardaì. The smokey fuel ban is a farce.
It was a well intentioned law that was brought in without a budget or infrastructure or enforcement team to ensure it would be effective. A box ticking exercise by the Greens ‘‘yup we banned the sale of smokey coal’’… but you can burn it.
Do your sums on a pellet stove. Those that installed them preCovid have seen their costs triple since.
Bastards.
I refuse to use those return machines. I’m just firing bottles and cans in my bin… I can’t believe it’s gonna affect the beer trade tho… Soon we’ll be back to piss like Heineken, Budweiser and carlsberg only.
I just bring them to the local recycling centre like I’ve always done; people always look miserable in the shop queuing up for these things. Queuing for a couple of cents seems pretty grim.
Maybe people should just cut back on their consumption of plastic bottled goods and buy a couple of cans of quality beer instead of slabs of piss like Heineken
I’d rarely buy plastic bottles tbh.
Milk from reusable glass bottles. We rarely drink pop in our house if ever.
Beer is generally glass bottle.
Are tins included in this? Like coconut milk/ baked beans/ chopped tomatoes/ mixed beans etc? That might be where I’m falling foul of the new policy…
If it meant killing off Heineken and the likes, I’ll queue like a cunt to return the above.
We go through tons of plastic bottles because we’ve been on a boil water notice for over a year.
What a liardy fucker
