Ya, they have more or less forgotten the hurlers, or at best they don’t chase them anymore and they reward guys who really want to play football. If Cork adopted a similar approach they would get far better results. Maybe not necessarily winning Minir titles, but exposing more genuine skilled hurlers/footballers rather than 5-8 of the best athletes dominating Minor but not training specifically to a high level at one sport as well as stopping other guys from gettin to a higher level.
Probably. Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Kerry beat them, this is supposed to be Tipp’s worst Minor team in years.
In saying that, beating any Cork team underage is not much of an achievement considering the way the county is run and the retards in charge of underage teams. As an example Fitzgerald started two lads just coming off medium to long term injuries last night.
Mark Landers will be in charge of next year’s Minor Hurlers, hopefully he’ll do something.
Kev, they have 4 players starting with the hurlers with a fifth injured.
Aye, Tipp have as many dual players as Cork have.
I stand corrected (but i was not neccesarily talking about this year) but they don’t chase them and play them without training like they used to. I had friends play with them back along and this was common place. They have had talented footballers for a long time. Now they have discipline and structures. As well as that hurling manager forced players to quit football in the past and other players deserting them the week of big games due to instructions from hung managers or off their own back.
thats an awful situation. horrible way for a club to be run
:D:D
GGA folks are such tards
Sounds like he’s a fella who’s gotten too big for his boots as a result of being on the Cork senior football panel for a couple of years and is now trying to transfer from the small junior club to the big-town senior club.
The only thing I know about that case is what I just read there, and from it, he doesnt come out of it well, in my opinion. He is happy to spread rumours about what is going with other people and dart board shite, but refutes all the rumours said about him and the way he handled things.
there is obviously a lot more to this story than what he is saying about being unhappy with the process of how a manager was put in place. why would he and his brothers want to leave just because of how a manager was selected? Can only speculate, but was any of his family members part of the former management team?
I hate these sort of articles, its a storm in a tea cup where everyone is too stubborn to just get over it and move on, and go to the media and give a completely manufactured interview to try show their points.
I’m pretty sure you’re closer to the truth than the truth he is peddling. Don’t know everything about this story, but I do know they were caught out lying about his address and the amount of time he lived there.
They were a very good club and did disproportionately well at underage after years of hard work by a few lads, Gerry Ryan a cop living where I’m from had alot to do with it, travelling down all week every week all year to coach the young lads. This is the thanks he and others gets. As much as mbb was being funning, that statement just about covers it.
