Cork GAA 2013

Ever been to Kinsale?

Last village before it. Ballymartle in Hurling.

Only 1 city player starting, that’s pretty amazing.

Ah right, thought it might have been out on one of the peninsulae or something.

cork under 21s gave clare a hiding last night. 3 - 15 to 1 - 10
both teams below full strength.
cork won a similar contest this time last year but that team didn`t look half as mobile and skilful as this years group. Munster under 21 champiosnhip is going to be a fantastic competition this season

Patrick Collins was in goals. I am told that he is likely to start for U21s come championship. He is still U17. I cant remember an U17 ever starting for the U21s. An unbelievable talent. His brother was playing outfield last night aswell.

massive puck out
wouldnt read too much into it as the conditions were ridiculous. cork did not have cahalane, spillane , joyce, lehane or coughlan. having said that clare were short Flanagan, morey, mcinerney, kelly, cunningham and a few more that could start including alan oneill who is on the senior panel as well.

FFS Patrick Collins playing practice games for the U-21s, is Ger Fitz taking the piss. William Mac is a fine keeper, as is Minihane.

Actually stupid question, of course he is.

Either of you two have the Cork team. This group shouldn’t be much better then last years.

Fenway any opinions on the Cork seniors.

Andrew Quinn played 21’s for Clare as an under 17 back in 2000, he played 4 years of 21’s for Clare but didn’t play in his final in2004 year due to injury, think O’Shaugnessey may have done the same for Limerick

We will always be competitive but maybe will not contend seriously for a couple of years. Its hard to argue that the best available are not getting picked and at least management are creating a culture of competition in that no one is assured of their place.

I tend not to get too downbeat about the league. It only matters when it matters. Lads are getting too worked up about fitness levels but most of our lads were involved in the Fitz and so there is little point in flogging lads at this time of year.

I think that the championship is beginning to have a very open look to it. Its important for our development that we get a good run in munster and this is a very realistic goal.

I was referring to Cork only Puke.

Eoin Kelly played 5 years u21 for Tipp.

didn’t Corcoran play minors at 14 or something ridiculous like that? He surely played 21’s at 17?

Ya he did, he was u15 but rigged out as a 14 year old I think. He was the most dominant under age player I ever saw. Remember going to what might have been an U16 or maybe Minor East Cork Final around that time and he was ridiculous, and was well below the age as well. He played 4 years Minor & 21
