Pal, nobody gives a fuck about some kids’ match. Give us the AET score and that will do.

Late penalty for Cork levels it up yet again after extra time.A cracker by the sounds of it.

Ah here.

Paudie Sul out for the year. Suspected broken shin.

Cork hurler Paudie O’Sullivan could miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious injury tonight that saw the club championship game abandoned.
By Declan Whooley
The younger brother of Diarmuid was playing for Imokilly in their championship tie against CIT tonight when he sufferred what appears to be a broken shinbone after just seven minutes.
An ambulance was called and O’Sullivan was eventually taken from the field in great distress before the referee decided to call of the game.
The talented hurler looks set for a long period on the sidelines if the initial prognosis proves correct and will be a huge loss to Jimmy Barry-Murphy with the Munster championship clash with Clare looming on the horizon.
We wish the Cloyne man a speedy recovery.

Explain Cloynes relationship to Imokilly please?

Imokilly is the divisional side made up of a bunch of non senior clubs.

Sound, I had thought Cloyne were senior.

Maybe they are. Imokilly are definitely a divisional side. Turenne or Mickee would clarify.

Were Cloyne relegated last year mickee321, Turenne ?

Must of been a fair bad injury for a referee to call a game. Hope the poor fucker makes a speedy recovery.

awful news about Paudie
Yeah Cloyne is in the barony of Imokilly
Imokilly would span all the clubs from Cobh over to Aghada to Youghal along the coast and up as far as Castlelyons and Rathcormac in North Cork, also up to St,Catherines in Conna
Sarsfields / Glanmire and Erins Own ( glounthaune) are also thrown in but they should be City div really

in the senior championship players who dont play senior for a club in the division can line out for the barony or divsion
as far as i know Carrigtuahaill, Midleton, sars and erins own are senior, cloyne must have dropped down if paudie is with Imokilly so, Turenne would know the gorey details

Cork has 7 divisions

Imokilly - east cork
avondhu - north cork
duhallow - basically east kerry
beara - south kerry
seandun - city
carberry - west cork
muskerry - mid cork- Ballinora would be a major team here

Junior hurling in Imokilly seems to be gone to fuck tho, they arent eniugh teams anymore and they have merged the league with Avondhu,

when cork won the 99 all ireland you had 7 starting player from Imokilly and another 6 on the bench
itll be a long time before you see the likes of castleyons, cloyne , killeagh up senior id say, we had a great intermediate team at home in 99 with the 2 lads to the fore but cant even compete junior A now

99 cork team - players from imokilly division

donal og - cloyne
the rock - cloyne
Corcoran - erins own
mickey o connel - midleton
mark landers - killeagh
timmy mac - castlelyons
Joe deane - killeagh

subs

bernard rochford - killeagh
pat ryan - sars
derek barrrett - cobh
ronan dwayne - aghada
seanie o farell - carraig
mick daly - cobh

Killeagh are still senior. Cloyne went down last year. Basically they were shit underage when I was playing (7-8 years ago) and only produced Padraig O’Sullivan in the span of about ten years. They have a lot of good young hurlers coming through now but they are all fairly small/similar and obviously Donal Og/Diarmuid and the rest of that crop will be gone soon so I’d say they are intermediate to stay. Castlelyons/Youghal are also Premier Intermediate and would be well in the mix for promotion.

At Mickee says, Imokilly Junior Hurling was ten times stronger two decades ago before all the small East Cork clubs bar my lot and a couple of others went up to Senior/Intermediate in the span of a decade. Its still the strongest junior hurling division in the county however, and generally very competitive with a lot of very good hurlers.

Mickey they didn’t just merge them together for the craic. They basically made a balls of realignment and decided not to go with the underage structures (that work brilliantly) because some old guys were afraid of being out of jobs at divisional level.

Our underage teams are now in the East, which is so much more logical than going down to Ballyvpurney on a Wednesday night for a 5.30 game with 25 teenagers.

Now at adult level though Youghals Junior A hurlers could have an away game against Charleville. They tried to put us in with Duhallow, to suit the Western clubs in Musketry.

They had a chance to sort the fixtures and they blew it.

Bad news about Paudie. Whatever about the hurlers, he IS their football team and they were challenging our boys for promotion, so while I don’t want the lad injured, there is a benefit for us.

I would argue about Imokilly being strongest at Junior, it’s probably on a par with Muskerry, Duhallow and Avondhu nowadays. All pretty even. Even the City with Mayfield, Dillons, the Glen & St. Vincent’s all strong.

Imokilly haven’t had a finalist even in the last 4 years, it’s all Avondhu, Muskerry and the City.

Awful business with young O’Sullivan. I wish him a speedy recovery. Chin up fella.

I think you meant shin up. R.I.C.E.
