Cork GAA 2014

It’s only March and Dublin will be better in the summer but then again so will Cork. That was a massive win and a massive statement of intent and we had to send out that signal to the footballing world. That win was worth more to us than the two points. We still have issues. We need to get Aidan Walsh back on form.On the other hand i think we saw signs on Saturday that Fintan could do a fine job for us at midfield. We have the scoring forwards though and that’s half the battle. We have so many promising players it’s all just a matter of filling out the defensive positions and getting Walshy firing on all cylinders.

Again kudos to Cubby for the way he’s giving players chances and the style of football he has the team playing. In fairness i knew after he appointed the selectors that he knew what was involved to get us back on track. This is still a developing team and there will be a few bumps the along the way.But i think we have seen enough to suggest that Cork will be contenders this year.My mouth is watering when i think about what sort of team we’ll have in 2 to 3 years time.I do think the aim has to be the all ireland with a semi final place at the bare minimum.People are codding themselves if they think that the last 4 in August is an unrealistic target. This is still a development year but despite that we do have a team good enough to win the all ireland.I agree that it was a bit over the top the way people were saying that John Cleary was the only viable candidate. However the downplaying of John Clearys abilities in certain quarters is also over the top nonsense.I think he would be ideal in a director of football type of role.Oh and another thing there was substance to that power point presentation all the same.It looks like Brian Cuthbert will prove to be the tactical visionary that Cork football has been lacking these past few years. We looked like such a well drilled team on Saturday and we played with such a sense of purpose.
your post is utterly stupid as it says absolutely nothing about anything and is simply a desire to contribute and be part of a converstaion you know absolutely fcuk all about but since it is your post it is entirely plausible

incidentally is this the first recorded incident of you referencing someone you don`t know?
Thats a clamping. Right there.

Brian Cuthbert has made four changes to the team that beat Dublin on Saturday night. Captain Michael Shields returns from injury to replace Eoin Cadogan, who is with the hurlers this weekend, as is Aidan Walsh. All the U21 players, including Conor Dorman, are unavailable due to Championship commitments (they play Kerry on Wednesday 12th in the Munster Championship). Tomás Clancy moves to corner back in place of the injured Noel Galvin, who picked up a hamstring strain in the Dublin game, while [B]Tom Clancy/B returns to the side following his recovery from an injury picked up in the win over Kildare. Kevin O’Driscoll comes into the half-back line, with Andrew O’Sullivan replacing Aidan Walsh at mid-field.

There’s more good news on the injury front, as Patrick Kelly returns to the panel following a long injury lay-off, and Donncha O’Connor has also recovered. Damien Cahalane and Jamie O’Sullivan continue to make good progress.

Would you put pressure in Niall Cahalane? To be honest they are doing it from 5/6, nobody notices the Barrs are just happy to have them as hurlers. Just like Douglas and Bishopstown with other Haven and country lads.

Anyone know why JamieCoughlan was taken off in the Fitzgibbon final after 20 mins. Shocking move if it was for tactical reasons.

Yes, but I’d rather not say on the forum.

Yes. Had to be back in Cork to babysit that evening.

Paudie O’Sullivan won’t be back this year.He mightn’t even play senior intercounty hurling again.

No idea why Butcher is starting, not an inter-county footballer and can’t kick-pass. Surely just give Deane a crack there?

Where did you see this.

Is that because of homosexual reasons?

He’s really really really really good at constantly running from one end of thr pitch to the other without stopping for an entire match, thats one positive about him at least.

That only explains why Conor Counihan likes him however. I assume Cuthbert reckons Deane/O’Laoire are too inexperienced/not good enough/not physical enough yet to be the back-up midfielder. Could do with Alan O’Connor back.

explain please?

Some of his pals or his brother or sister or someone was going to the cinema and he’d offered to babysit for them apparently. It was only a meaningless game between two educational institutions so he came off early on to get back on the road to Cork. That’s what I was told anyway.

This wasnt the version I heard mate, although the latter part about a meaningless game lines up the same. Some members have already received the PM’s.

The Manager of CIT is a fellow Clubman of Coughlan’s, strange carry on i have to say.

Ok fellow Clubman of the Manager of CIT and Jamie Coughlan, he is no good anyway. Pa Callaghan should replace him on the panel, come to think of it, the guy who replaced him on the CIT team should have been on before him, oh yes - he is another fellow Clubman, ye should get a room… fellow clubmen everywhere…

Seems just about right to me.

Callaghan will find it to replace Coughlan considering he has made himself unavailable for Cork under 21 and Senior.
