Ya that’s the way it looks to me as well. Players can change a lot in the 18-21 range but I’m surprised some of those lads are still there. Also surprised Sugrue is not starting.
Kenneally loves big men an is the worst type of manager to bring players thru for a county
Yeah I saw him play in the half-forward line before for Castlelyons. TBF he has a good hand, doubt he has a forward’s instincts though.
Anyway the team is pretty straightforward, three big lumps in the half-forward line to win ball, two quick lads in midfield to win breaks and three fast lads inside. I assume it will be Cadogan and Spillane inside with O’Shea as an extra man in the middle pitch, although I’m not sure that is Keannelly’s style.
I assume Walsh, O’Keeffe and Dennehy all have knocks, or else they would be starting. Histon must be concentrating solely on football, which is a considerable loss to Cork Hurling imo.
Cahalane and Murphy are the main prospects outside of the senior lads. Its a mediocre enough team playing away from home but Waterford are liable to fuck up at this level so who knows.
Is that Paul Fitzgerald from Douglas a cousin of Luke the rugby player? I think Luke played for Douglas at one stage and I think I remember him saying in an interview he had cousins still playing there.
Maybe. Looked like a rugby player when I saw him at Minor.
Youghal after beating Na Piarsigh in the club chamionship.
Jesus that’s huge. Was it knock out?
Piarsaigh are under achieving with a while now but it’s still a big scalp.
Na P are falling off a cliff unfortunately . Abie Allen ran the underage like clockwork for decades and his loss set them way back.
He coached our young lads for a couple if years and was doing a great job until some local thought he knew better and basically drive him out.
He had a fall out with Na P. as well didn’t he? And if I’m right in memory that also was little if his doing.
Even so, they have the hurlers at senior to be much better.
Na Piarsaigh are still consistently very good underage year in year out. Who is in charge of them this year?

Great win for the lad’s between this Billy Cooper and Seamie Harnedy it’s been some summer for the locality..Im very sad that we had to beat Na Piarsaigh though a club i have a massive soft spot for.I’'d get more enjoyment out of beating the Bars or those county board patsies in Sars!

Brian Cuthbert and his selectors have made six changes since the defeat to Kerry. Brothers Brian and Colm O’Driscoll, Ian Maguire, Mark Collins, Colm O’Neill and Donal Óg Hodnett all come into the team, with Damien Cahalane, Fintan Goold, Patrick Kelly, Daniel Goulding, Barry O’Driscoll and John O’Rourke on the bench.
Donncha O’Connor and Kevin Crowley were not considered due to injury.
The whole things smacks of panic. All we needed for this game was a kickout strategy.A plan to get numbers contesting posession at midfield.A plan to stop the full back line being exposed and a plan to deal with the blanket defence. These things should have been worked on for the last 7 fucking months. However dealing with such important things like those that have been highlighted would have required too much work rate and application from this management team who were only hired to facilitate the hurlers in the first place.Hence we have all these desperate changes in a desperate search for a winning formula.I don’t like the way they are throwing a lad like Ian Maguire to the wolves here.I honestly this management team are hopelessly out of their depth. The team keeps changing from game to game.Fellas don’t know if their coming or going not to mention the lad’s spending time with the hurlers. We should be hoping to beat any team outside of Dublin instead were reduced to hoping we scrape past Sligo and hoping that we can be competitive against Mayo.It breaks my heart to see those players being reduced to this but it’s always the same in Cork.
Wow. That’s change, and it’s really telling the lads who were shit that they were shit.
McGuire is completely from left field, was he even on the panel? Great prospect and I’m happy to see him involved, but that is massive surgery.
I like bravery though and I hope it pays off for management, they deserve a break.
Those backs look shit beyond belief, if we manage to get past Sligo the big boys will take them apart.
Thanks Kev. The backs are shit though.
You have never ever seen this back line play together, it may come to pass that there is a lot more balance to that defense.
It’s a very attacking half back line but with actual defenders in there as opposed to attackers.
None of those individuals are shit in any shape or form so you are talking bollicks.
There is a tremendous amount of pace and ball carrying on the wings now so let’s see how that goes.
I’m still worried about Clancy at No. 6 though. He vacates that role way too much.
Will be interesting to see how McGuire goes.
O’Driscoll and Loughrey can’t defend to save their lives. The only two top defenders that are there are Shields and Cadogan and both are struggling for form.
Rattled. Very rattled.
Hopefully we see a response from the lad’s this weekend.I stand by my opinion that Cuthbert is a clueless bluffer but sure hopefully he might surprise me.
