Aye, twas so bad in Laois at one stage that they now just play all Senior games in the Park, and only let the Clubs host Inter and Junior games.
Sadly the net result is that most games are played with a shitty attendance in a rattly stadium fit to hold 20 times the people. Be much better back out in the Clubs, but its all about the euros.
On a related note you now have to buy tickets for the Kerry hurling club championship matches at a van beside the gate. You walk over and give your ticket then to the man at the gate. Seems cumbersome but they must be finding it more cost effective than letting lads at the gate take cash.
It stops lads walking in with a bag and saying Iâm playing I suppose, or giving the nod to a lad they know on the gate. Cute Kerry hoors
They are the same people bandage. Sneaky cunts involced at all levels. If they are going to rob tgey will rob.
No expenses when the club does it. And club gate receipts are not exactly going to keep a County team going these days.
The Cork CBâs reaction to lowering attendances was to keep upping the price. So for a while the coffers remained level enough. Its gone beyond that now.
And that does happen wholesale id say but you would need some battalion of Co board officials to attend every game held in a county. Id imagine that instead of Julio example being good governance itâs actually scandalous misuse of Co board funds paying expenses for lads to go to these games
Saw this on Blood and Bandage. Re: the Strategic Review open meeting on the 24th of Sept:
According to our delegate there was mass confusion at first which the delegates tried to clear up.
Richard Murphy stated that it should be a chair (either adult or youth), secretary (either adult or youth) and a player.
Delegates railed asking why they were acceptable as representative of their Clubs at County Board meetings but not at the proposed meeting and asked if any three reps would do.
Ger Lane said yes.
Richard Murphy said no.
Diarmuid Oâ Donovan clarified the situation by insisting that the Executive would have to approve any replacements should any of the above not be available.
Am I right in saying Richard Murphy is from Banteer/Lyre club which was heavily critcised by Ger Lane for pushing for a written long term plan for GAA in the county?
Now Ger is willing to allow nominees from each club and Richard is saying no? Odd.
Semi final team I assume judging by the crowd.
Teddy Mc and Pat Hartnett played in the final, John Fenton as well, iâm guessing it was Johnny Buckley and John Hodgins, that missed out.
Was that the first ever sweeper in hurling, Galway played a 2 man full forward line and Crowley hurled some amount of ball between the two defensive lines.
