Yeah 93 they won it

Yeah, another good hurler.

A very young team as well for the most part, based on those names. Most of those are U-21. Twomey has always impressed me.

They have dual players as well. Including the Cahalanes playing for Castlehaven?

Be great for JBM to see the Barrs winning it.

Is Sombrero Cyril a ā€˜Barrs man?

That Twomey sending off was an absolute disgrace. As for Gerā€™s young fellow holding the head, whipping off the helmet and rolling on the fcuking floor in agonyā€¦

The little Al Ireland thing doesnā€™t mean anything, I donā€™t know, Iā€™d always associate that with the 70s when the crowds were huge for Rockies, Glen and the Barrs, youā€™d regularly get over 20ā€™000 for big games.

As for me, my parents house was there long before there was a parish called Mahon, it was all part of Blackrock then, mostly just fields, my family surname is one of the oldest in the parish, along with that of @Corksfinedtboy, my ancestors were fisherman for as far back as itā€™s possible to trace, so I joined the Rockies as a 7 year old, Ballinure isnā€™t really an underage club, they would never field in every age group, anybody who is any good at all will play for the Rockies, as they are perfectly entitled to. ā€˜Ballinureā€™ is an area in Mahon, where the cemetery is. So it wouldnā€™t be at all controversial for Mahon lads to play for Blackrock, itā€™s the norm

Itā€™s unusual to have 3 clubs in such an area isnā€™t it. I know Michaels are football and Rockies are hurling, were they always that way?. Mickey Sull explained the Ballinure thing to me one night over drink and he didnā€™t seem to have much of a gra for either of the other two and I canā€™t remember why

Not unusual, in Cork City anyway, youā€™d have a number of smaller clubs in the areas that the Barrs, Glen, Nemo, Douglas etc would draw from.
St Michaels have a separate committee etc, but itā€™s all the one club really, same as Glen and St Nicks

the Glen and St Nicks are in the one facility though arenā€™t they? Thereā€™s a good walk between Blackrock and Michaelsā€¦

Cork GAA suing the contractors and consultants for their work on Pairc ui Franc.

Thatā€™s a very recent addition, traditionally St Michaels played in Church road but when those pitches were being developed in Mahon it was too good to turn down, most of their business is still done out of the Blackrock club, thereā€™s no rancour between them

No, heā€™s just a cunt of a man.

Cahalane, Twomey, BOC and Cunningham all played for a Cork Under 20 team this year who couldnā€™t beat as bad a Tipp team as thereā€™s ever been.

Blackrock are surely favourites for the Final by way of experience even though I donā€™t rate them either.

Na Piarsaigh or Kilmallock will beat either by 20 points in Munster.

Iā€™d shudder to think of what the Waterford champions would do in that case :flushed:

Sorry I have my drawā€™s mixed up. I had it in my head it was Limerick v Cork for some reason.

Its the Clare champions who play Cork, so an absolute hammering is unlikely.

I thought the little all Ireland was the ladies final

I think the final will get around 15,000.
