Cork GAA - They're going home! - sponsored by Sports Direct and Super Valu

It is a serious achievement. They will rattle that intermediate all ireland too

Major headache now trying to manage a small group of players next season, the football was a definite second place this season won’t be as clear cut now. The senior A is an average enough grade they would have fancied their chances of winning that I’d imagine this year

The championship should be run like wexford. Run one of hurling or football first. Then rotate the following years.

Wexford will rotate any year now

Very hard on dual clubs as it is, especially small dual clubs like Kanturk. If the Barrs win next weekend it’ll be some feat. I met a few of them yesterday who still had hoarse voices and sleepy heads on them.

Lads will point to the barrs as proof you dont need to follow that system but like you, I believe the wexford system (with rotation) is the best for dual clubs and players.

14 of the kanturk starters today started the win over Midleton in the hurling

Think it was Newcestown this year who were completely destroyed due to the schedules. Like Kanturk small panel of players playing both codes. Teams like the Barrs, Blackrock/Michaels and Douglas (albeit fierce underachievers) are exceptions to the rule. Eire Og feeling it this year too. Player burnout is only going to get worse if nothing is done.

Play the football off first because hard to see Cork footballers going far.

The Cork CB can call it what they want but Premier Intermediate is third level grade hurling which is junior.

As someone from a dual club who played 6 senior matches in both, I would not like one, then the other.

I actually think being able to go from one to the other keeps things fresh.

5th tier Cork champs gave Kilkenny junior champs one hell of a game last year.

Very good. Who won?

Pros and cons to each.

5th tier Cork champs will win All Ireland junior this year.

I think they will not. Shall we stake our usernames on it?

Tough on O’Connell to do the cruciate again.

I will bet if Ballygiblin 5th tier Cork champs play Kilkenny champs they will beat them.

Fair enough. If Ballygiblin play Blacks and Whites in this years Junior championship and win, I’ll lose my username to one of your choice. Visa versa if the Skeoghvosteen men win

:handshake:

On the ball.
