Cork GAA - They're going home! - sponsored by Sports Direct and Super Valu

The cute Cork hoors think Declan Dalton is next in line after Pa O Callaghan to be the answer to our problems.

Coleman also supposedly gone for the year per PROC.

How many is that injured now? Horgan, Coleman, Oā€™Mahony, Connolly, Fitzgibbon and S. Twomey? Millerick, D. Cahalane and Lehane just now coming back from injury.

There isnā€™t a fucking chance Conor Cahalane will be starting come championship.

Heā€™ll be lucky to make the panel

GAA is ridiculously hard on the body. These are amateur sportsmen, who is driving the level of training they do on hard ground. Can see it in my own club and with lads I know ankles shoulders knees all in ribbons

Be prepared to be shocked then.

Do you think heā€™s actually good or the management just like him?

Cahalane wonā€™t start come championship, unless @ScorpioLyons knows something we donā€™t. Management obviously like his type of player but he hasnā€™t shown much of anything. Interesting to see Ethan Twomey starting with Cahalane on the bench - they obviously see more potential in the former, and correctly so.

Suppose the forwards will be some mix of Harnedy, Barrett, Horgan, Dalton, Lehane and Kingston. If Cadogan or Power show form then Dalton could end up on the bench but the management like with he brings in terms of his ability to finish and win ball in the air. TBH Iā€™m not convinced Lehane will start either, nor maybe even Horgan. Iā€™d say currently Harnedy and Barrett are the two ā€œcertsā€.

The latter. Club form is outstanding and like it or not heā€™s one of the more experienced players who can do a shift half forward or midfield.

Barrett isnt related to a wingforward at this level. Heā€™s a cornerfoward. Nice finisher but timid out. The only cert in the halfforward line is SH who has looked nackered the last 2 seasons. Was hoping Sean Twomey would make it but heā€™s too injury prone to ever get a decent run. Tim O Mahoney is surely an option but has, crazily, played his career upto now in defense despite being totally clueless there. Conor Cahalane is the box seat atm the be starting wingforward imo. Fitzgibbon could be in frame but even more timid than Barrett imo.

Fitzgibbon will start if heā€™s available, Oā€™Mahoney might need to work his way in but heā€™s a certainty once he gets some games in, Harnedy is currently irreplaceable

Oā€™Flynn and Coleman are massive losses, Connolly less so but his eye for goal will be missed

No reason to think Cahalane is starting based on current form.

Draw with a point at the death from the top class Conor Cahalane. Some player.

Haunted Iā€™d say

ā€œClub form is outstandingā€? He was outperformed by Cunningham and Hayes in the forwards alone in his own club last year.

He was absolutely brutal in every fitzgibbon cup match I watched this year at 26 years of age in a competition filled with 19, 20 year olds.

If he was from a country club there isnā€™t a chance he would have gotten the chances he has.

The young players around have far more ability and cutting.
