Christy O Connor on fire in The Echo. Cork hurling are going to win all round again. We just need to stop being unlucky. Great underage talent and structures. https://www.echolive.ie/corksport/arid-40197552.html

Players are coming, but you cannot win a senior all Ireland without first winning an all Ireland at underage first. It cannot be done.

Look at every single team to have won the All Ireland in the last 30 odd years. Every single one were preceded by an underage All Ireland win either at minor, or u21 level. Cork need to win this 20s All Ireland this year, otherwise we are prolonging our wait.

Slowly but surely yes, confidence is building and the players are coming. But we need that boost of an All Ireland at minor or u20 before we end the famine. We did win an u17 in 2017 but thatโ€™s not the same really as a minor. Beating Galway or perhaps Dublin in the final of this 20s, whenever itโ€™s played, is absolutely paramount for the immediate future of Cork hurling

Did they not win at underage previously? Jesus I never knew that

Waterford beating them in the u21s was the making of them.

Dublin have won one minor in past 20 years. The underage game is a world apart from those at senior intercounty now.

Lost the 1989 minor A/I and 1992 Munster under 21 final.

Relative success is important. Not so sure you have to be winning all irelands but you need to be turning out well organised teams who are competitive and are able to hold up against their peers and molding players for senior.

Underage success guarentees nothing but a lack of relative underage success guarentees that you will do fuck all at senior

Absolutely. Cork has benefited from work done in schools and clubs aswell. Midleton cbs have really got their act together while great work is been done in CBC and St. Colmans. These are only as good as the players being fed into them by clubs.

Buff hasnโ€™t got the hang of the asterisk yet

Its some stat that Cork have never won a hurling All Ireland without a Farna man starting and since the place has been closed since 2006, its hard to see how theyโ€™ll ever win another.

Ladies football coach Eamon Ryan has passed away. I think he suffered from cancer in recent years. Seemed very well gotten in the ladies football circles.
