Cork GAA - They're going home! - sponsored by Sports Direct and Super Valu

Yes - he was excellent, only 18.

Glen way off the pace and could have levelled it. Midleton much better option to rattle Kilmalock.

They won’t get within 6 of them

The glen are poor.

Agreed. Very limited, but have plenty heart. Good few passengers on their team.

What a fucking statement to make

Great win by Midleton. Any team that beats the Glen are good in my eyes.

His old fella was a great bit of stuff.

All the walshes playing today are brothers and are first cousins of Aidan. Paul, another brother was suspended. And Aidans brother Tommy is injured, he was centre back for Cork u 20 footballers this year… All fit there is 7 of them. 2 brothers and 5 brothers

I think he’s still a minor

How did Downey play?

Rob had a disappointing day I think. Didn’t dominate at all in the air and Lehane caused him fierce trouble. The younger brother was probably a bit better than him. The Glen half backline did get on top for a bit after half time to be fair to them but the water break really stung their momentum in the second half.

Two best hurlers on the field were Lehane and Stephan McDonnell. I’d image Tommy O’Connell and Simon Kennefick will be involved with the Cork seniors next yr. I’d be a sceptic when it come to some of those U20 All Ire winning players. By a large they’ve made little impression at club level. which would make you question the std.

It’s U20, they are not ready physically.

Disagree with you on that u20 point. Tommy O Connell had a brilliant club campaign, as did Sam Quirke. Alan Connolly has been outstanding outstanding Blackrock. Barrett and Power brilliant for Blarney. Look at Ciarán Joyce and he center back on the Imokilly team. Brian O’Sullivan has been outstanding over the last couple of years for Kanturk. They are just a few of the players who won u20 AIs. I actually think most have been fairly impressive at club level

Will Lehane get another run with Cork? Under a different manager?

Lehane should not be brought back into Cork panel. He had loads of space. Most disappointing thing for me today was the standard. Very poor. Cork club hurling seriously lacks intensity. Even the striking was poor. Rob Downey not intercounty, speed of hands, feet and decision-making lacking, but younger brother might possibly make it. O’Connell has excelled in the championship but won’t make an inter county half back. Just like Coleman - excellent at Cork hurling but not suited to top level intercounty hurling. Different sports unfortunately.

Is Tommy anything to Mickey? Has Kennefick played any underage with Cork?

You’d feel sorry for Anthony Nash missing out on that win with kanturk today in fairness
