Intermediate Hurling Championship R2 Full time Castlemartyr:2-17(23) Aghabullogue:0-7(7). Castlemartyr progress to R4.

Christ we are on our way to Premier.[/QUOTE]

7-8 weeks until our next championship outing.

What I meant of course is there are players from each selectors club. That’s a co-incidence ain’t it.

Kerry are extremely strong at this grade this year, should walk it.

That’s not what some of the people think themselves. Carrig are really stretched this year, to nearly beat the Glen doesn’t look good.

That’s not that bad. We have twice waited 4.5/5 months.

There was one player starting from the home club for each of 4 members of the backroom. Two of those players made a big contribution to the win. Limerick played Kerry twice in May, one draw and one narrow defeat.

You a are wrong. There was 2 from Kinsale anyway, without even looking it up.

Bottom line is, it’s a very average cork team and there was a heap of talent either passed up or not made available.

All the lads starting from the selector’s clubs played football for Cork underage. Far from poor players, particularly Kiely and Brosnan.

Medical Officer: Dr. Paddy Burke. Physiotherapist: Michelle Tormey.

Missing a load of lads, I would guess 7-8 starters plus Histon would surely start if he wasn’t injured/playing football. Afaik Dennehy, Geary and Hegarty are the lads on the age, maybe Herlihy also. Lee was heavily involved with the Cork seniors at the start of the year, can’t get his starting place and Sean Hayes (Mallow) can’t make the panel, which is surely because of either injury or commitment or exams or travelling. Never heard of Brennan or Buckley.

Half-back line should be decent in the air and Dennehy is an ok full-back. Assuming Mark O’Connor plays further out the pitch and its Spillane/Meade inside, both of those lads can score goals with ball. Really can’t see us doing at all 8-12. Would expect a 10-12 point drubbing.

Agree.
Charleville must be cing pretty strong. Saw bits of them recently in a challenge against Bishopstown. Very good hurling side. Pacey and good stick men.

I said it’s a poor team, not players.
Playing underage football for cork though doesn’t assure you are a very good adult player.

Alan Dennehy (Charleville) called up now as well. Deserved but should have happened at the start of the year.

waterford defeats may have been necessary as a sort of cathartic, purging experience where certain home truths and players were exposed.

There was some very honest talking that you would not get otherwise.

May amount to nothing but don’t under estimate influence Murphy brings outside of playing.

To the senior panel I assume?
Think I saw him play No. 6 for Charleville recently. Would he be a slouchy type relaxed demeanour, but tough and with very good stick work?
Whoever the Charleville centre back was, wa that way anyway. Charleville have a very good team.
