Cork GAA Thread 2015

I would have reservations about the business management heads of selection group. Great guys but a (dare I say it) sheedy or pat gilroy or the likes would be of huge benefit on that. Who is looking at it analytically? Who is involved in real high performance in the last 3-4 years? Nick Murphy would have been exposed to it with CC and Aidan O Connell et al so that’s something.

No point in looking for high performance people if you are not going to know what it looks like. Presentations etc would be a far better set up. Interviews are a farce

Paddy Power now has Mulcahy as favourites. What’s the story

So far Kingston has not made himself available.
Very few contenders for the job.

I can’t wait to see the horror on Mulcahy’s face in early March on the sidelines, looking sheepishly up at rain clouds. Then when the precipitation comes, the little children screaming in horror as the fake tan runs from his greasy head & face.

Please let it be so.

They will be well conditioned under Mul. Post shampoo.

Please let Tomas Mulcahy get it.

players from tracton and bally somewhere on the squad as well. it hardly matters how many from ech place is on the team in a given year so much as the fact that players from those clubs are in the school so they are available to play .

Are you trying to tell me lads from Ballymartle, Tracton and Cobh regularly go to Rochestown, a Cork City school?

They are anomalies, sons of teachers or the odd past pupil.

Reality is the cork city schools club representation is much lower than other schools in the Harty and they are at a disadvantage player wise in comparison to even the likes of Caimins, never mind Thurles or Asr.

County Board Announce Hurling Appointments Committee. At tonights meeting Cork GAA Board confirmed the following appointments in respect of Cork Senior Hurling management.

Senior Hurling

The Board approved the following Appointments Committee -

Ger Lane (Bride Rovers) - Chairman

Frank Murphy (Blackrock) - Secretary

Charlie McCarthy (St Finbarr’s)

Sean O’Gorman (Milford)

Pat Mulcahy (Newtownshandrum)

Ffs.bar mulcahy who on that has any idea what is needed in modern management.

This could be a disaster.

Mul is joint favourite. If Kingston is too busy to take it then could be anybody

Heard Jerry Wallace being mentioned as a candidate.

Absolutely no chance.not that it should greatly matter but he never hurled, not to mind hurl for Cork.

Ideal man for Limerick so

He’s a cork man with a lot of coaching experience though right?

What happened with him with RTE when he was with Antrim?

Seems quite outspoken and maybe impulsive so might be a bit of a risk for Frank

Dunno. But it looks like he’s either gonna be with the Cork senior team, or Limerick’s.

He left Limerick did he not? Saw he was replaced a few days ago.

He might be a bit like John Allen. But from what I heard he is very reliant on a good trainer, he had seanie McGrath for a good while and he was basically copying Seanie’s work.

Frank will have the final say and it will be a former hero. There is alot of snobbery in cork hurling and it’s costing them dearly.

The job is Kingston’s if he wants it.

Would Cunningham give up the Dublin dollars to take it?

You can nominate yourself according to Ger Lane.
