You can’t possibly do the best job possible doing both at that level.
While they are obviously intertwinned they are still two seperate modalities and take huge planning.
Testing is where you need the real man power.

Sports psychologist / performance coach needed but budget probably not there
Dublin footballers backroom staff (you don’t see on match day) is about another 15 or 20.
Kingston had to take it as job only comes around once but they are probably 3 years away from players coming In. His son and O’callaghan if he can be convinced to play might add something but without Murphy in defence and losing couple of footballers and defence is threadbare.
KK is a smart guy but I wonder if he is ruthless enough
He has some big calls to make dropping players
Brian Hurley. I think he is a good guy, if he is listened to. He’s savvy and I would trust him to see things during games.
Ruthlessness would seem to be an issue alright.
We’ll see. With no expectation we may be pleasently surprised.
But something drastic is needed. About 7/8 players need to be told get fucked.
Shane K will probably be brought it, but is too young and it could ruin him.
I believe O’Callaghan already indicated this week it made no difference who gets the job, he ain’t playing. Believe he has family members having a very negative influence there. Sad really
Doesn’t say what his background team is.
So Frank has his way and there’s a Yes Man in charge now. Kingston should of course bring in Jerry Wallace as trainer but can’t see it happening. Apparently CCB were none too happy to see Wallace and John Allen working in Limerick these past few years.
Why Wallace?
At least 15 better coaches in Cork.
But you are right. This is all frank
Who else was going to get it? Kingston appeared to be everyone’s preferred choice.
Could you not out-source the testing side of it? Or would that work out as expensive??
You could but most crowds that do that are very inflexible in what they will test and you can only do it their way and its all very generic. For instance i would want different tests from hurling to football to soccer to rugby.
Mardyke are good enough but expensive i think.
Plus then do you want to give it away? Personally i’d be slow to. Its 1)money 2) a great way to build relationships with the players as its one of the few times you are in total control and constantly talking to them 3) getting an physiological insight to players is not just about numbers. Watching them helps you program better for them.
Hard to know what the fucks going on though. Money is not a problem, but it is a problem if you know what i mean.
How is the new football coach going to get full respect from everyone with the way its oublically been displayed that Cleary was the man but the board wouldn’t back him completely. Now the next choice will lack similar backing but also will have to work double or treble hard to win over players and supporters. They are thick people in fairness.
Ah lovely, the Glen.
Glen Rovers 2-17 Sarsfields 1-13 FT. First Glen win in 26 years.
Sounds like Dooling, Callanan and Brosnan played well.
Well any man that win two Munster Minors with Limerick can’t be bad.
Blackpool will be burnt to the ground tonight
It will be off the charts
Dooling was very good. The forwards in general were immense, particularly in 2nd half. 2 brilliant goals. Callnan, Cunningham, Moylan & McDonnell were excellent at the back.
But it was the 2 half forwards who did the damage, Brosnan and the other lads name who escapes me.
Real old school game. Quality wasn’t amazing, but it was very enjoyable. It was definitely the Glen won it as opposed to Sars not playing well, Glen were mentally very strong. Again the influence of a qualified personal making a difference.
CBC 0-16 Clonmel 0-8.
Thurles 1-22 Colmans 2-16.
Templemore 0-20 Charleville 1-15.
Hamilton 0-9 ASR 4-22.
Rochestown 3-23 A.G. 1-14.

Pat Hartnett (Midleton), Diarmuid O’Sullivan (Cloyne) and Pat Ryan (Sars) named as selectors.
Pat ryan will probably coach.
We’ll get Conor Sull back as well which is good.
That is a positive.
