The clubs get it back. All I’ll say is that there is a pot of gold there for clubs to get their grants from amd to have their houses in order
Munster council grants are great and all but I just think they’ve went too far with the latest increases.
70% of ticket sales are reliant on two counties.
Only the one of failure that resides in their hearts in that time.
Ah there’s no way the Gaelic Grounds is better than Semple. They’re both shit.
Five coffees in the current environment.
A good review, but no predictions?
Was it two years ago there was a fair bit of cut to affairs, Byrnes beinf surrounded by yapping tippos post-whistle? Hopefully that needle remains and brings the Tipp fans out
And, has been noted on here before, its dangerous and ripe for a crowd crushing incident
Informative rating
A truly dreadful stadium and the town resembles some run down shithole you would see in northern England.
It’s way too big for Tipperary GAA now also, they won’t even go to their own games these days.
The Tippos wouldn’t have had enough in attendance to do that last year.
First round is always the hardest to predict; you’ve nothing really to go off.
I wouldn’t be surprised by any scoreline in the Clare-Cork game. I do think that Limerick will probably win against Tipp but I think it will be tighter than expected.
Who’s the local TD there again?
3 years ago Pat Ryan Simon and Robert Byrne had a bit of a disagreement post-match too.
I’m relatively pessimistic from a Tipp perspective but have taken some hope in limericks league form. Historically this game played in Semple stadium has thrown up an incredible number of draws and it would probably suit both teams.
Tipp will be thinking that the 3 goals conceded v Cork were all relatively preventable, Limerick are unlikely to score such goals from deep running.
They have a big decision to make on the Limerick puckouts, if they go zonal like they did v cork it’s risky but you’d like to “test” Dowling into his execution of the 60/40 mid range puckouts. I have my doubts he can execute, also WOD for all his talents won’t hurt us like TOM did.
Tipp really will have to get more traction on our own puckout as we have become reliant on winning the turnover battle with Limerick in recent years, something we obviously struggled with especially when they drop their whole team back and go blanket plus Gillane up top by himself.
Thurles is a great town.
The Kinane Stand needs a bit of work at the Kilinan End side but fellas thinking the TUS GG is better than it are on a very poor WUM.
If I was setting up for Tipp puckouts, I’d be letting ye go to the full-back line; sitting the full-forward line relatively deep, ready to engage as they approach the '45 and seeing if Tipp can break through the press.
See how we get on and push a bit higher if ye are getting scores off it but I would have my doubts.
Similarly, depending on the make-up of the Limerick half-forward line, I’d probably push fairly high if I was Tipp and see how you get on. It is risky, as you say, Limerick’s movement on puckouts tends to be fairly decent but we are unlikely to have electric pace there.
Now if you’re getting absolutely cleaned, you’re probably sitting off again and allowing one of the FB line to take it (presumably not Nash) but I think it’s worth starting like that.
He’s done fuckall for the place. A fucking charlatan.
This is a problem for Tipperary. Unlike Cork and Limerick it’s an entirely rural county with a stadium they can’t fill.
Munster championship matches there now are either sparsely attended which gives things a League feel, or the opposition have more supporters.
Jesus I’m not sure if a draw would suit Limerick here against a Tipp team still very much in transition/between teams. I think a draw would raise serious doubts around Limerick’s All-Ireland credentials. I know they drew in 2023 but Limerick still had an aura at that time and improved as the championship wore on.
