Rumours are that Cadogan, Harnedy and Kearney are all doubtful for Cork.
Would you go away out of it you cute hoor. Apparently theyâre flying it in training, hiding in the long grass.
Iâd expect them all to play. Wonât make a difference to the result. Will be interesting to see if they throw in Michael Cahalane from the start as a swerve ball.
What few years?
A risky headline
All Ireland Minor winning captain of 2006 Joey McLoughney has been training with the seniors lately. He featured a little in the league in 2013 but has never played championship. Be some story if he got his championship debut at 28/29
Good hurler
Old fella was talking to a Toome fella who was saying he was played out of position for years. Often stuck in the backs while Iâd have associated him with midfield more. Toome lad said his best position is centre forward
Toome donât generally play forwards in the back unless they can flake with the best of them.
Off the top of my head in around 2010 there, after Tyrell was on the wane Cahill and Murphy were the two preeminent corner backs in the country I thought.
Conor McGrath destroyed him in Thurles in an U21 game that year. He could never handle a quick forward, a pretty big hole in your game if youâre a corner back.
I think I remember you talking about that before. I canât think of any corner back that didnât get beaten one time, bar Ollie canning. It doesnât make him a bad player.
Who in your opinion are the top corner backs in recent memory then?
Noel Connors has probably been the best of this decade, Barrett flashed for a couple of years and Paul Murphy. It is hardly a stellar list
Noel Connors
Hardly stellar indeed. Cahill is on the list for me. Hickey had one great season in 2014.
Incidentally, hickey cleaned out Seamus Callanan when he marked him at u21. Doesnât make Callanan not a great player. Ditto your old McGrath and Cahill anecdote.
Cutting edge opinion on Hurling matters as always HarryâŚ
I donât particularly like the tone of that reply.
We have forty threads for the limerick v Clare which is on in 3 weeks.
Hardly surprising on a Limerick forum.
I donât think Michael Cahill has ever played a bad game for Tipp in championship, a great corner back when fit
