Conor Gleeson was still concussed after the clothesline from Cahalane.
A novel defence. Its as good a shot as he has
It wasnât mistaken identity on Horgan. The replay from the Canal End doesnât capture him digging the hurl into Gleesonâs left hand side/back area as the way Gleesonâs body was tilted obscured the view. That prompted Gleeson to stupidly turn around and give him a little belt back. It was clearly captured on the live feed from the front camera view in the Hogan Stand. Iâm only watching the Sunday Game highlights show now so surely this was picked up on.
Watching it on Sky here. Horgan gave him a sneaky dig in the ribs and then went down like heâd been shot when he got a graze across the shins. Cork cunt.
It wasnt. His sending off wasnt even mentioned
Kingston could have walked for what he done tooâŚif they are in the mood for citing fellas after the fact
no it should but wonât
That would seem like a classic case of self defence. A proportionate level of force to the force he was confronted with. That should be overturned on appeal. Wasnât the Diarmuid Connolly red card in the 2015 drawn semi final against Mayo overturned on self defence grounds?
As regards Ozzie, James Owens or his officials didnât deem it necessary to take any action. That should be the end of the matter.
So could Harnedy. Cork turned very nasty.
Exactly - if that referee has any credibility heâll write it in his report that itâs dealt with. We can then concentrate all our efforts for the next three weeks in getting Conor Gleeson off. Itâs also a handy excuse for when Galway beat us. The distraction and hype got to the players so Derek brought them to Carlingford to go jumping into the lake on a team bonding session
Did he deal with it ??
One or both Gleesons will play in the final, Joe. I guarantee it.
IfJames Owens and Gavin say that they didnât see that incident they should be removed from the referee panel on grounds of blindness.
And if they saw it and did nothing removed on grounds of incompetence?
No. Like the Tuohy incident they may have seen it and judged that there was nothing in it.
It was entirely unlike the Touhy incident though, after play, deliberate etc so if they try and pass it off as that owens proves he is a terrible ref. Not that gleeson should be banned, galway shouldnât benefit from what happened in a game not involving us, but cork should feel aggrieved.
And I donât want Waterford posters whining for the next decade if/when we beat them good and propa.
