Cork weirdo/sicko thread

And how does that tally with being a RC so?

The Catholic Church continues to promote dark age values?
Honest to God, Jesus would be ashamed of his life by the intolerance professed in his name

The intolerant lads need to get out from under the bed, they seem to be afraid of everything.

I met three fellas from bandon or Bantry Iā€™m not sure which last weekend in Madrid. Neither weirdos or sickos but they were attending maybe 19 or 20 Real Madrid home games for the last twenty years. Maybe aged 65, 50 and 40.

Itā€™s fandom most unusual. They were waxing Lyrical about all the great nights they had.

I met another lad from glanmire then who was now living in Washington but hadnā€™t lost the accent. He was over surprising his daughter who was on Erasmus.

It tallies with my belief and upbringing
Iā€™m content being a practicing not a pretend one ,
to suit when one buries their dead in the church
Gets married in the church
Christen their kids in church
Sends their kids to a RC/ Christian church funded school etc
You cannot be a part time Christian

Eh, you know the church isnā€™t paying the bulk of the costs for running schools mate? Iā€™d agree that all the schools should be taken away from them.

Itā€™s when you read a honest to God decent fella like @Corksfinedtboy incining his Catholic beliefs as the reason for his intolerance of transgender/non binary/ whatever youā€™re having yourself that itā€™s most obvious.

Seriously @Corksfinedtboy this isnā€™t going to magically go away, how will you react if one of your grandkids was to go down that route

RC seems pretty strong on homosexuality but I guess maybe itā€™s ok to be a part time Christian when it suits you

One manā€™s meat is anotherā€™s poison,
Iā€™m glad to belong to the church, warts n all,
Will you agree to bury your parents ( if still alive atm)
In a church?
Guess so,
Did you Christian your kids in a Christian church?
Course you did
So guess it suits one when ye need itšŸ™„
If not happy with the RC church why go through the motions of the above?
Bit hypocritical :ok_hand:
When one is in trouble in general one calls on God to help ,
Priests in my particular church are beautiful ppl,
Donā€™t frown upon gay ppl ,
Mantra is hate the sin
Not the sinner ,
No itā€™s divisive but thatā€™s my belief

Iā€™ll still love them obviously but thatā€™s it
Will never ever agree itā€™s right though,
Trans / binary ppl make up practically none of the popoulation
Yet shout the loudest?

You , me, your parents and all belonging to you and I would be depending on the hedge schools without the Catholic Church taking on tbe mantle,
Similarly wouldnā€™t be a hospital in Ireland :ireland: without the church getting involved

Not wanting to be persecuted amounts to ā€œshouting the loudestā€ in society?

Donā€™t honestly know any trans person getting persecuted tbh

I wouldnā€™t be taking credit for the hospitals or the schools given what they got up to in both. Thereā€™s plenty of septic tanks around Ireland full of baby bones.

There are plenty of miserable bigots out there who seem completely obsessed with making their lives a misery. Intimidation and systematic discrimination against trans people is a key plank of the right wing culture war.

A form of persecution in other words.

We donā€™t have anything to fear from trans people. We as a society do however have a lot to fear from those who have an irrational fear of them.

Hold on! Iā€™m a hypocrite because my parents funeral ceremonies were in a Church? Bizarre

You wanna preach intolerance, take ownership of it and donā€™t blame it on Jesus

Iā€™m not right wing in any shape or form

Iā€™m referencing the hypocrisyā€™ of anyone so critical of my church
Yet bury their dead in same,
Christian their kids in same,
Attend mass just to get their kids into a decent school,
Turn up in church at Easter and Christmas only to allay their conscience,
Drag kids along on commounion/ confirmation days only to get their kids into a good school
Yet donā€™t attend church any other time of the year

Now thatā€™s absurd and bizarre

Truth hurts

My parents were both practicing Catholics, what right would I have to have their funerals anywhere else? What a ridiculous accusation of hypocrisy.
Both my parents were also extremely tolerant of all in society, they wouldnā€™t have taken their moral compass from the Church, just general ā€˜Christianā€™ values.
I have no issue with the Church or its followers, but blindly supporting their every stance is crazy
