shur everything is tight, then you’re going to bed and if you’re not spooning the mrs you’re in the foetal position legs all bent up so those tight hip flexors are pulling on your back… do you see where i’m going?

but mattress can also be a major problem.

Worth spending money on. Stay away from memory foam. We spent biggish (for us) for a very firm but comfy one. Will check name and get back to you.

That’s a savage deal. Super king is 480 incl the discount… Onrale. They are offering a 200 night free trial as well… You cannot say fairer than that

Have you a history of back pain or did it start with this mattress

Get a waterbed

I’d always have had tight hamstrings which caused issues with lower back over the years. Never as persistent as this though.

you’ll be dead in a month.

Well a mattress is massive factor. Try as many as you can but after years of doctors etc advising the firmest possible that’s proven to be the exact wrong advice. Best to go medium at least but whatever your joints can sink into.

Good man … this firm stuff is nonsense. You dont want it too soft either but as you say, you need a little give in it.

Try pilates. I had awful trouble with my hips flexors and groain from hard ground. Back was an issue too but 15 mins a day has greatly improved it. Was at a point where I couldn’t turn over in bed

It’s unreal how much bad advice there was out there about back pain. Another one that I always knew was bollox was sit as upright as possible in a car or whatever. That, weight centred vertically, actually puts huge pressure on your hip and lower back instead of a more laid back posture.

For yourself, walk like fuck and maybe go down and swim around cork harbour like a demented seal

Heat pack underneath the arse cheek giving you most yip for 10 minutes. Then down the front of your jocks at the side half on your leg half on your belly. Lie on your back and pull your knee across your body with the other hand and hold for a minute while breathing naturally. Prone press up position and holding for 30 seconds then move your body up slightly and repeat until yor torso is nearly vertical. All of this should give you temporary relief. Stop running immediately. Take up swimming. When all of this stops working for you hit me up for the surgeon’s deets.

I’ll never stop running… never.

It’s all different i know (back pain) but the last time i had an issue I was given advice from a physio to walk backwards for about 15 minutes and to walk sideways taking large steps, sounds mad but it worked for me. Also started a backpain yoga class which i felt was strengthening the back but i fucking hate yoga and quit after a few.
But the backwards walking :+1: sure you’ve nothing to lose.
