There’s nobody going to do 6 months for this for exercising 3km from home. There’s a 4 day weekend coming up, we are in the middle of the greatest public health crisis in modern history and this is a measure that has been brought in in other countries. It will be revoked as soon as this is over.

What precedent is that? It was drafted by government, passed there, signed by the president and agreed on by the government departments, guards and attorney general.

There is also a hard stop date on the legislation. It isn’t open ended

I’m no legal eagle, but the freedom to travel is protected by the Irish constitution. The constitution can only be changed by a referendum. I don’t remember one today, but maybe I missed it.
