Coronavirus - Dig In, It's going to be a while yet

Lot of furocius digging in already. I think everyone can understand why itā€™s being doneā€¦ Itā€™s also OK to express concern that if can be done once, then it can be done again under different circumstances. I donā€™t think anyone is saying they totally oppose it, but are merely weary.

Ease up ta fuck.

I would have always liked to think we were better than reverting to a police state esque China scenario though mate.

Whether itā€™ll be enforced or not is immaterial, as a country we toe the line 99% of the time.

Beep beeep beeeeep truck reversing

That was completely wrong about the movement within the eu, Denmark have restricted it

Whatā€™s the punishment for breaking the measures did they say?

I havenā€™t expressed an opion there broā€¦you were too hasty there with your itchy finger.

Their freedom.

And those 99% will be grand. What do you reckon the other 1% in your scenario are up to?

Jesus fucking christ.

This was drafted and passed in the dail and signed by the president. Like any bill. Leo didnā€™t write this up this afternoon in the call centre.

Re read this as many times as you need.

Arrest and fine/imprisonment on conviction.

Fines would be more suitable but without a national id card system thats useless in ireland

I think his point was that the government hid behind ā€œfreedom of movementā€ when Italian flights were still landing here (and passengers in their thousands arrived), but now theyā€™re disregarding it

Tell that to someone thatā€™s arguing against it.

1% at and r nought of 2 to 4 adds up to dickheads putting people in ICU

Sure it was included in the cornovirus legislation that was agreed a fortnight ago. They just didnā€™t push the button on this til they had to

Think about though mate, what the 1% do wrong, shouldnt be placed on the vast majority who are doing the right thing. And it is being with this new legislation.

But they havenā€™t stopped flights so they are still doing that?

It wonā€™t be if you keep doing it

It wont be if you continue to do the right thing. Jesus

In recent times he has made a number of assertions. Most recently that the quarter of infected healthcare workers in this country were not picking up the virus in the workplace. That seems implausible.
Most pertinently he commented in early March about there being no need for restrictions in nursing homes and that further measures were unnecessary when they are now the epicentre of the disease in Ireland. 70 was the latest count. It may be more.
Also comments about travel home from abroad and those who attended mass gatherings were not prudent at the time either. The comments in relation to the nursing homes alone would make me take anything he says in future with a pinch of salt.

Sure it will have no impact on the 99% that are doing the right thing
