Lot of furocius digging in already. I think everyone can understand why itās being doneā¦ Itās also OK to express concern that if can be done once, then it can be done again under different circumstances. I donāt think anyone is saying they totally oppose it, but are merely weary.
I think his point was that the government hid behind āfreedom of movementā when Italian flights were still landing here (and passengers in their thousands arrived), but now theyāre disregarding it
Think about though mate, what the 1% do wrong, shouldnt be placed on the vast majority who are doing the right thing. And it is being with this new legislation.
In recent times he has made a number of assertions. Most recently that the quarter of infected healthcare workers in this country were not picking up the virus in the workplace. That seems implausible.
Most pertinently he commented in early March about there being no need for restrictions in nursing homes and that further measures were unnecessary when they are now the epicentre of the disease in Ireland. 70 was the latest count. It may be more.
Also comments about travel home from abroad and those who attended mass gatherings were not prudent at the time either. The comments in relation to the nursing homes alone would make me take anything he says in future with a pinch of salt.
