Playing a game of FIFA online is a great way of staying in contact with old college pals during a lockdown.
I donāt understand how lads obtain as much enjoyment out of playing against a computer/AI though.
how is the schools are not āsafeā concept even entering the discussion?
Are people saying here they should be closed because kids might catch this nonsense ?..is a āsaferā alternative to deprive children of education and mixing with peers ?.

now look. schools were originally closed to prevent mass movement of people and not kids mixing, it is psychotic to try to institutionalise a child like that woman has above in their own home with the parents paranoia and have a 6 year old sat in front of a screen when he should be out falling off trees and digging holes in the gardenā¦what that woman is doing is actually disturbing .
when schools were closed us here in the community did our level best to have the kids out with a coat on playing catch, soccer, bikes or whateverā¦locking them away in front of a screen??

Kids have regressed so much the last few months academically. It is essential they remain open until the end of the year. I was just laughing at the play dates/class room comments.

My sister teaches junior infants. Some have gone back a lot due to not doing any of the lessons she assigned or recorded. Sometimes not the fault of the parents die to their circumstances but for many the fault of the parents. More have progressed on things like reading.

Bit of a tricky one though isnāt it. How kids learn to read and do maths now is different to how we were taught, you could be doing as much harm as good by trying to put in the building blocks yourself. Like an eager parent teaching a young fella to hurl for 6 months only to get down to the field and discover he had the wrong hand on top all along.
