Coronavirus - Here come the variants

It is not within the gift of the government to ā€œgiveā€ an individual their freedoms or rights (unless, of course, we are living under a totalitarian regime). Far too many people are ignorant of such basic principles.

I agree overall tbh. I find the use of the PHA to be serious overreach by the Government at this point.

This is what you getā€¦

Absolutely. The government, and more specifically the members of Oireachtas, have conferred upon themselves a frightening level of control over the citizens they are supposed to be serving.

Will you call on the Dunph?

Himself and @Tournafulla_Man

Shur theres not even a name on that.

@Copper_pipe can you get a few of these made up for us

We have to quarantine incoming travellers even if theyā€™re vaccinated because we have no way of knowing if their vaccination certificate is authentic.

Meanwhile in Ireland:

You couldnā€™t make it up.

Looks like unless you are vaccinated in the State by HSE you are not a vaccinated person

Thatā€™s one of the restrictions. Ireland have not introduced all the restrictions necessary to meet the definition of a lockdown.

Go way you geebag.

I will need 5

If you hold it up to the sun you see the watermark, itā€™s Tony Houlihan and if you turn it upside down its Ronan Glynn, not easily forged Iā€™m sure youā€™ll agree.

Donā€™t go down the @Tierneevin1979 route of rebelling against dictionary definitions.

Dictionary definitions are the bastion of a geebag. Iā€™ll go down the route of lived experience if thatā€™s okā€¦ what weā€™ve seen has been unparalleled in this country and pointing to a dictionary to wave it away is all levels of stupid.

You can call it whatever you like but donā€™t turn around like the other clowns and say ā€˜lockdownsā€™ donā€™t work when it hasnā€™t been implemented here in the first place.

This is a really nonsense line of argumentation from you. ā€œLockdownā€ has meant different things in different places at various stages of the pandemic. In Ireland level 5 is the most strict level of our restrictions in response to covid, level 5 is Irelandā€™s lockdown. It is indeed lighter than whatā€™s been applied in other places from time to time but it is our lockdown nonetheless.

Do you realize how mental you sound right now? arguing about the dictionary definition of a lockdown to show Ireland has been some kind of liberal haven during the pandemicā€¦ fucking hell.
