For nearly 50 weeks weā€™ve been in lockdown
Arbitrary restrictions weā€™ve lived through plenty
No pints of Guinness then
Just shitty surger cans
But its nearly over now
And now Iā€™m easy

There will be club games before that youā€™d imagine

Absolutely. League by the end of June

Ashkatin will be hurling in the County League in early June, you can chalk that down mush.

We are well rested anyway. Be raring for road

Hoola! Hoola! Hoola! Hoola!

Head for Foleys, work the top shelf
Talk Pucks, pints and the GAA

Seeing as you ask, I will do.

Thereā€™s no way to seriously ā€œcritiqueā€ this except to say they are the words of somebody who has gone down a rabbit hole of paranoia, cynicism, gullibility and conspiracy theorising. They make no effort to acknowledge the complexity, uncertainty or the seriousness of the situation, instead resorting to a ludicrous ā€œitā€™s all bullshitā€ narrative which frames politicians and a group of people with genuine expertise, who, whatever you think of them, are clearly doing their best to guide this country through a pandemic, as ā€œdictatorsā€.

Thereā€™s no arguing with that. Itā€™s hypnotic, glazed eyes stuff.

First of all Iā€™d say the ā€œgalleryā€ here is comprised of people who have continually got things wrong, people like you, because of over the last year theyā€™ve decided to indulge the primitive parts of their brain and continually dug into wrong positions they took at the start, which ends up with them calling others ā€œwoke cuntsā€ and ā€œfascistā€ when theyā€™ve run out of any other arguments.

Thereā€™s no arguing with the words ā€œwoke cuntsā€.

Thereā€™s no arguing with the word ā€œfascistā€, especially when itā€™s backed up by precisely nothing other than a grand, paranoid narrative of conspiracy.

Just to explain to you, and it is a shame to have to do so. Iā€™m an internationalist and cherished ideals of internationalism and the progressive breaking down of borders are an integral part of my worldview.

Thereā€™s just this one problem ā€“ thereā€™s a deadly worldwide pandemic. These cherished ideas currently clash with epidemiological reality.

Which means those cherished ideals simply cannot function in any meaningful way until the problem of the pandemic is over, at least as regards this country. Closing borders temporarily is one of the only effective ways you have to address the problem of the pandemic ā€“ and those countries who have dealt with it most successfully have all done that to a greater or lesser degree.

When the facts change, I change my view. What do you do?

i) You donā€™t understand what bodily integrity is. Trying to persuade people in good faith to take the vaccines which are by far our most important route out of this pandemic is not a violation of your bodily integrity. Vaccine certs or passports, should they come in, would not be a violation of your bodily integrity. You can debate the rights and wrongs of them, and Iā€™m open to the idea they may be counterproductive, but they would not be an invasion of your bodily integrity

I had four needles stuck in me this morning at the dentist. If Iā€™d had a real choice, Iā€™d prefer not to have had the four needles stuck in me. But I accepted that it was in the best interests of my dental health and indeed my health in general for those needles to be stuck in me, followed by half an hour of keeping my mouth open so the dentist could drill into my teeth. Was that an invasion of my bodily integrity?

Would demanding people put themselves in a position where thereā€™s a very good chance they could pick up a virus for which there is no real reliable treatment, which could make them very ill if not kill them, not fit your definition of violation of bodily integrity somewhat more?

ii) Neither your first and second sentences make sense on their own, let alone in relation to each other.

Ah yeah. Mad, Ted. Everythingā€™s mad when you think everything is mad and everything is a conspiracy by some faceless ā€œfascistā€ illuminati clique.
