We didn’t get close to ICU capacity last time.

Remember per the HSE there were actually 812 beds available if needed.

We will be tighter now. A lot of excuses were made over training ICU staffing. It takes a 1 year full time course to train them in the normal course. I guess they couldn’t because of the old summer holidays, couldn’t have people working through that. We could never condense these things down to a few months either.

It’s not like we were told to close down for 14 days to flatten the curve to give time to improve capacity. This wasn’t an emergency after all.

Oh this is rapidly going south of heaven when Mrs Hunt’s maternity leave is up.

He’s an inspiration to those of us who have calves at foot and those planning on inseminating their prospective life partners.

I learned the difference between when to use “me” and “I” in a sentence.

I bought a table in IKEA during early Fall. It allows me to separate my two doing their school work into different rooms like a prison warden separating warring prison gangs. So far it’s brought peace and quiet but who’s to say if one of them won’t be on the roof throwing slates by 5pm.

I thought the same in lockdown 1 but did some research.

I would have thought an ‘academic’ like yourself would do similar in the best interest of your own offspring.

No screens in my house for another year or so… She’s only 18 months so doesn’t need it. I’ll be one of those parents that won’t allow my 13/14 year old have a phone. They can whistle Dixie.

One of the reasons we really wanted to send our chap into crèche. There were times in lockdown 1 (and this weekend just gone) where there was no other option but to use the screen to keep him occupied. This causes all sorts of other issues and affects concentration, sleep etc.

You’re a great dad.

Grand if you control the time, like no more than an hour max continued with bringing him out and running the legs off him for longer than that.

Sadly it’s bickering down today so fuck all options.

Thank you National Geographic!

Leo stated this morning that he can never see life being the way it was before and that the idea of old normal way of life returning is hard to envisage. There seem to be new levels of despair that are plummeted to on a daily basis now.
