Coronavirus - Here for life (In high population density areas)

Yeah I am clinging to the hope that there is a case numbers fallacy and that the massive lag in mortality etc does not materialise. I think there has been a lot of information about schools, transmission rates amongst children, children being vectors or not etc over the last while and I just wonder if kids who had no symptoms could have transmitted the virus in significant numbers over Christmas. There is a lot being said about new variants and children being more susceptible but did NPHET and govt underestimate the scale at which the schools being open can contribute to community transmission.

it’s all a cod - let it rip - oiutf.

95% of people dying ‘with’ covid are being given palliative care. What does that tell you?

What those numbers indicate yesterday is that this thing poses no threat to 99.9 per cent of the population, atotal cod, 10 months of rte and nepht propaganda has people thinking otherwise and living in a virtual police state with a massive imposition on daily freedom, what’s worse you have a good lot of the people actually thanking Holohan and the government for it

America? Shur they’ve an obesity and poverty problem that are as bad as any disease. They essentially have millions of dead people walking around as it is…not to mind covid.

Have we anything for Ireland? Im looking for numbers of people that have died exclusively from covid, not with it.

go find it then

We’ve a higher proportion of white people than America…but considering ethnicity cant be done unless through some woke prism.

It will be a great tool in the government’s armoury.

Overheating economy? 3 month lockdown for everyone so they stop spending and start saving. EU referendum failed to pass? Lockdown until we submit.

Personally, I’ve been very much OIUTF for quite a while, but a good 6 week hard lockdown, like last March/April is what is needed now.

But I think the uncertainty, caused by the government is not helping anyone.
The government need to be clear and say, we will have a 6 week lockdown but by the end of it, hopefully we will have case numbers under 500 and a certain amount of vulnerable people vaccinated.

Then we can tentatively move to level 3 for 3 weeks with provisions, such as getting cases numbers down under 200 and pinpoint the virus in the community and where it is going.
How long we stay in level 3 is up to us. Allow restaurants to open where you can only have 4 at a table. While also pushing on in the vaccination programme, with a number of vaccines ready and a lot more can be vaccinated.

Move to level 1/2 then if we can, where we can really drive on with our lives and anyone can get the vaccine if possible/where available.

A clear road map, where we take the hardship now, with a clear view of how to manage this thing, and with fucking hope. It’s the lack of hope that’s driving people mad. We have the resources, we have the vaccines, we just need a competent government to give us a plan. Coz right now we are hopping from one foot to the other, looking at public opinion for guidance. I know is a pandemic and unprecedented, but January is bleak enough, people need to know that by August we could be at level 1/2 and we could get to a club game or be someway close to normal.

So yeah, LIDTF. Because this is the last one people are really going to listen to now. I feel its last chance saloon for lockdowns.

And people with darker complexions struggle to produce vitamin D naturally from the sun than people with lighter complexion

I was afraid of my life to mention a certain ethnicity is affected more adversely by covid due to their inability to properly absorb vitamin D… The fear of being labelled a racist is very real in the 21st century. You can’t point out skin colour in any capacity or you’ll be branded for life.

deaths in Africa must be massively more than anywhere else in the world so due to Covid given poverty and ethnicity and what not… surely, right

Couldn’t find it . That’s why I’m asking if anyone else has… It seems the medical world are cleaning up on reporting deaths with covid so we might never know the truth .

More sunlight.

Correct.

get on the UV beds lads and take cow medicine

Lockdowns are with us forever now. Governments are never handing back that power. Bad flu season = lockdown. Red weather alert =lockdown. We threw away our rights too easily

Sure they don’t test as a majority of the continent has no health care. Regardless of covid people with darker skin and further away from the equator after from vitamin D definecy unless they are taking supplements

Dark skin, obesity, lack of sunlight, big cities … There’s more than one thing at play… But African Americans have been hit harder in the US than European Americans.
