I think we would have seen that by June anyway regardless of vaccines. It is clearly a seasonal respiratory disease. We will be down to minimal cases by the summer. Hospitals will empty out like they always do. The key will be not to be fixated on cases. If there is an uptick in September we can’t revert to type and start pressing panic button. By that stage most of at risk groups will be vaccinated and we should be in the clear.

Anecdotally I’ve heard there is plenty of spare beds in hospitals currently, why wouldn’t there be when people are scared to go in at the moment.

It was on the radio today that the Regional is the most overcrowded hospital in the country with 36 or 37 on trolleys. Not too long ago that figure would have been up around 150/180 or even 200 odd.
